On campus today with Tyreke Johnson. Please post any updates. I have no idea if there is anything going on with Wade but Johnson is the kind of prospect that could go Irish.

Scout: Scout's No. 4 corner Shaun Wade is considering official visits to Ohio State and Notre Dame after his most recent visits.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- Shaun Wade was one of the top prospects at the Pro Impact Sports' Top Dawg 1-on-1 camp on Saturday. The four-star cornerback recently took a variety of visits including ones to Notre Dame, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and Alabama. Wade discusses those visits, who stood out and whats next for the No. 4 corner in the country.

It's no secret many are pursuing Ohio State pledge Shaun Wade. Scout's No. 4 corner in the country has an extensive offer list that includes many of top tier programs in the country. The four-star cornerback from Trinity Christian Academy, recently took a few visits to try to decipher which schools merit an official visit.

Wade visited many over the course of the week including: Ohio State, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, and Alabama. Although Wade has said a number of times that the Buckeyes will receive an official visit, another school has moved up the ranks. Wade's visit to South Bend was one that stood out - so much so the Scout 100 playmaker is considering an official visit.

Virginia Tech and Alabama each also impressed during his respective visits, and Wade discusses his trips and more in the video above.

**Includes highlights from the Top Dawg 1-on-1 camp in Jacksonville, Florida.**

Sounds like we're ahead of Bama and VT and are nipping at the heals of OSU.

Thre REAL good news here is if Wade liked it he must have been influenced by Tyreke.

I get the feeling that Tyreke is one of those alpha males that says... "I'm the best and i don't have to go to Bama or FSU for others' confirmation. I'm getting the most out of my three years of college before getting paid on Sundays."

Loy is saying that ND is working Shaun and his parents very hard right now and they are quietly confident he'll be Irish in the end.

FWIW, he has been very complimentary about ND to all reporters from all sites, so at least there's that. But it seems little crazy to be confident on this, at this time.

I'd be satisfied with that outcome.

Seems like Loy is predicting a class of 35-42 players with all of his confidence

Football staffs are full of alpha-males in a hyper-competitive environment who are constantly getting inspirational messages from motivational speakers. Most of them tend to be very confident about pretty much everything.

I got busy yesterday and didn't have time to go into Tate's board and how it pertains to the rest of OSU's CB recruiting.

OSU currently has Wade and IMG's 94 Comp, Marcus Williamson who is from Columbus, committed. Now Tate's out on the trail recruiting 97 Comp, Lamont Wade & 99 Comp, Darnay Holmes but not 94 Comp, Amir Riep from Cincy who is/was basically an OSU lock.

5 CB's in the Top 15. Obviously, they aren't all going there. OSU will get two of them. Which ones depend on who doesn't mind getting recruited over or looked over.

LOY is NOT the one saying he feels good about it, it is ND who feels we are in a good position

here is the EXACT context

While the staff, as of today, feels good about Wade ending up Irish eventually, I'm skeptical too. Landing him would be pretty ridiculous. I've seen crazier things though.

VIDEO: Ohio State 5-star CB commit Shaun Wade has backup plans in Notre Dame and Alabama

Five-star Florida cornerback Shaun Wade committed to Ohio State back in January, as the second member of what’s become a dynamite 2017 recruiting class.

At the IMG 7v7 National Championship on Saturday, Wade told SB Nation he remained fully committed to Ohio State, but he’s got several backup options in place.

Wade cited Notre Dame and Alabama as fallback options if his Ohio State pledge falls through before February’s National Signing Day. Others at the top of Wade’s pool of suitors are Virginia Tech and the two major Los Angeles programs, USC and UCLA. He’s also taken a closer look this summer at Georgia, NC State and Purdue.

The blue-chip corner plans to take at least a few official visits, including to USC and UCLA. Programs are allowed to pay for recruits’ and families’ expenses on such trips.

"It’s Cali," said Wade, a Jacksonville native. "I can go to Florida any time, so I probably won’t take an official there."

Wade does have an unofficial visit planned to see the Gators in Gainesville, which he said serves mainly to give his parents a chance to meet Jim McElwain’s coaching staff.

It’s still unlikely Wade leaves Ohio State, but he’ll continue to be in high demand all year. He’s rated the No. 2 cornerback in the country on the 247Sports Composite. But he speaks effusively about the Buckeyes. He talks "24/7" with head coach Urban Meyer, cornerbacks coach Kerry Coombs and offensive coordinator Tim Beck, he said.

He’s not worried, though, about the Buckeyes’ having a potentially all-blue-chip class. That "really means nothing," Wade said, especially compared to other priorities.

"We’re just all going to go into class and compete against each other and just win championships. I hope all of us get to make it to the league," he said. "That’d be a big thing for Ohio State."

I don't even think it's about the alpha-male mindset...

The staff literally feels confident that every prospect they push for will be Irish, but it's really just lip-service for whenever the reporters/insiders ask their questions.

"Those inside the Gug" felt confident that Juju Smith would be Irish.

"Those inside the Gug" felt confident that Justin Hilliard would be Irish.

"Those inside the Gug" felt confident that [linebacker(s)] from the 2016 class would be Irish.

Every class, there are two or three guys that are rated in the top-50 that we all know ND probably won't land, but the staff "feels confident."

They have to put out the positive vibes, whether they're real or not, and the sites allow the softball info to go out as "news" because they need to bring forth info that keeps people paying (even when it's obviously just a bunch of hot air).
