It takes time to develop a mindset of winning, Kelly is doing that but it takes time. Floyd was taken out but this team was still in contention. That tells me when Floyd is in the NFL this team will still be okay.

The what If's are great but ND lost. I hate it and will probably drink myself to sleep. But I will always be on the bandwagon, without a doubt.

Well, on a side note I believe tonight proved my moderator philosophy to be wrong... I used to be more stand offish and let the board mod itself... I would only step in when REALLY needed... I have had PMs about the difference now and have noticed, if not commented, about it... and all and all I am SHOCKED how civil it has been after ND lost ANOTHER potential defining game... I was expecting the worst...

Being an Irish fan in my part of Jersey is tough...the only remedy is pints and shooters tonight...

side note...Dayne was looking confident..Big Crist fan..but can't defend him anymore... chin up laddie

screw. you. I live in the heart of SC land and each one of them is a complete moron... I even work with a former football player of SCs (walk on bullshiter not worht a ****, don't ask) who would put his child on the fact SC did nothing wrong and the NCAA only picks on them to keep things even.... seriously.... I honestly think what will happen when I finally lose it and attack him at work...

Heading to bed. Have to sing at church tomorrow. Bad loss, but I still believe that the offensive and defensive lines are better than they have been in years. That's why I will sleep well.

Heart-breaking.

I had this circled on my calendar ever since it was scheduled as a night game, and this is how I am rewarded.

I had to keep my composure because my girlfriend and some other friends were over, but as soon as they all left I went for a midnight jog. Can't believe it.

Goin' to bed now. Wakin' up bright and early to head down to the Browns game. Let's see if I can avoid my teams going 0-3 this weekend. (my HS was w/in FG range, down by two with a minute left, and driving when the snap sailed over the QB's head and was recovered by the other team. game over.)

Beat Navy, I guess.

The D played scared tonight. So scared of the deep bomb that they gave up the short pass/run all night long. Barkley didn't have to throw it deep when the ND D gave them 1st downs every other play.

I wonder what or when Dayne is moved to 3rd on depth chart. I realize Coach has said he is 2nd because of his knowledge of the offense and Hendrix lack thereof, but this team can not afford the consistent mistakes he makes. Don't know what Hendrix would do in the 2 spot, but boy that fumble was painful.

You can blame Dayne or the center, but that fumble was the difference between ND winning or losing tonight.

Had Cave put that ball back any further, Crist would have been crapping it out for weeks. It was right were it had to be. Dayne, as usual spit the bit.

Gotta pile on here...I LIKE to see the criticism, because it almost always contains a perspective I don't have...The constant attacks on folks who see weakness...it makes it less fun to come here...I don't get the personalization of criticisms aimed at the team/coaches. Its OK to criticise...doesn't make you less a fan.

Now...THIS TEAM IS VERY INCONSISTANT WHEN IT MATTERS! That doesn't mean they NEVER execute, they even do sometimes when the presure is on, but IN BIG GAMES THEY USUALLY DO ENOUGH TO LOSE! Blame whomever...doesn't matter. This team is simply mentally fragile, and it shows up in execution in clutch moments far too often.

I don't blame Kelly, but there is something systemic here. How many penalties tonight? Unforced turnover in the redzone for a TD!

I'll put it to you this way... Pretty sure if I shanked 3 out of my first 4 Tee shots, you guys would call me a shanker...it'd be my identity until I did something different MORE OFTEN THAN NOT. 3 out of 4 times these guys took the field with something on the line against a competitive team this year, they CHOKED...yup, I said it. Thats who they are....until they aren't.

...and if I hear "play for each other" out of any of them this week I'll puke...teams who know what the eff that means don't do the same stuff over and over and over...bullshit cliche until it isn't.

We----- on the same wave length.... no doubt.

I would say this program has 'shanked' every good op they have had to make a national statement since the FSU game Ty's first year( in fact that ALONE was the reason I have picked ND to lose every big game correctly for at least three years now).... and what did they do a week after the FSU game for that matter????..... this simply is not a big time program... I'm not cliff jumping, I'm not screaming at the cpu screen, I'm rather calm right now considering......... just calling it as I see it...

Obviously there is a critical component that is missing. We are not a BCS-caliber team with our current performance (not talent, but performance). How can we beat MSU but not USC AT HOME?! MAybe the Irish are still too green, maybe they are still 1 season away, but I am getting tired of that.

Look, I'm not gonna be like the short-timers who want to replace Kelly and Rees after every rough outing. But we obviously are lacking SOMETHING. Whatever it is, we need to get it, hold it, and run with it through the rest of this season.

Championship caliber teams step it up when the spotlight is on. That is the difference. Or as BK would say during his press conference, "poise". The team lacks poise, especially the big time players.
