I'm telling you, the bye week killed them. Lots of evident rust on both sides of the ball. Offense couldn't convert for s***. Defense couldn't make big stops until it was too little, too late. We better roll over Navy next week or I'm gonna equate watching ND games with cleaning my bathroom; something that is unpleasant but needs to be done on a regular basis.

Well, fair point, but if you're saying that you expect Rees to improve to be Barkley-like after being the starting QB for basically two entire seasons, then that would be a pleasant surprise.

That is, going by a principle of diminishing marginal returns, I don't think Rees will necessarily improve greatly next year, at least physically and at most at all, and his bad habits that he doesn't break by the end of this season/now (e.g., staring down recievers/Floyd) will just become more entrenched.

I mean, there are some examples of QB's getting a lot better in their Junior years after showing above-average-but-not-great skills in their previous two, but not a whole lot...

(Btw, if you're going to use "true" Sophomore before Tommy to make your case you should also use "true" Junior before Barkley...otherwise it could be misleading.)

Not really. Did you see the Clemson game today? Taj Boyd is a true Sophmore with less starts than Rees. And he plays better than Rees or Barkley. Some kids got it, and some dont.

I made a post and it wouldn't go through for some reason, but I believe in this team no matter what anyone says.

You can not pass to Floyd if he is taken away, that was Tommy's mistakes early on.

It takes time to develop a mindset of winning, Kelly is doing that but it takes time. Floyd was taken out but this team was still in contention. That tells me when Floyd is in the NFL this team will still be okay.

The what If's are great but ND lost. I hate it and will probably drink myself to sleep. But I will always be on the bandwagon, without a doubt.

Fire Coach K, are you freaking kidding me? This wasn't his best game coaching. But, come on. Lynch, Tuitt, GAIII, Nix, I-Williams, how he handled Floyd,Koyack, etc. are enough in my mind he is very good! I am estatic we have him. He wasn't the one who didn't show-up with intensity to start the game, he wasn't the one who fumbled on the 1, he wasn't the QB that couldn't see the open players and threw another Pick, he didn't stop their running backs or sack their QB it was our players today.

Team loss, and I am happy we have BK!

Yep. You're right about that. I thought about that after the fact.

I don't think that Tommy will ever be as good as Barkley. He's an elite QB. I don't think that there are more than about 2 underclassmen who will be as good as Barkley. He's really good.

I just didn't think Tommy was that bad tonight. Came back on the bad knee...showed lots of toughness. We just didn't get it done.

Barkley had 15 TDs and 14 INTs as a freshman after starting every game. He was 26 and 12 as a sophomore. Tommy has about the same number of starts as Barkley had after his freshman year.

Tommy is NOT as good as Barkley. Not saying that he is. But, I think the comparison isn't really fair.

Ok, fair enough -- I'm kind of new to the whole "rep" thing -- all I had known until tonight was that I couldn't rep certain people until I took away/added to others.

So showing a standard as to when it should be used is actually helpful to me. For example, it seems like your saying the neg reps should only be used for trolls, which would make sense; although, not being a troll myself, you might have just violated this rule..

And in my defense, the way Wabash sounded-off seemed like I may have been hasty, and violated the community norm espoused above, which was why I posted with my reasons and offered to take it back. (Which earned me more neg reps for outing myself, I've seen...)

I don't think the loss is going to be a deciding factor. The recruits experienced an amazing atmosphere at the stadium.
