Balance the negativity.

What are you most excited for with this new regime, system, and year?

Everything?

If I had to pick one guy, of course Manti Te'o will be impressive to see. I probably most excited to see how Theo Riddick turns out in the slot. He looks so fast at times it doesn't make sense. Hopefully Crist throws underneath to him enough to have him be effective.

I am most exicited about watching an entire team play with intenesity. I guess that means it will be harder to see the game at the stadium but it will fun to watch them win onTV

New Attitude - of a tough, smart, and hard working ND football team that will themselves to win...if i heard one of the players correctly from Ara pep-talk...the three E's....execution, endurance, and effort.

The fans, maybe not in the first or second games, but when the "Kelly Ideology" kicks in, ND Stadium will be rocking week in and week out

Players who play smart instead of confused. Athleticism not seen at ND in a decade, not looking overmatched by teams with lesser recruits, most of all, LESS DAMN SCREENS!

Yep, what Alamo said... and tons of offense...

ALSO, I think we may have a real shot at Pitt and or SC this year... we have not won a real legit "Big Game" in years so that would be a huge step to make year one.

Yeah...totally agree about the "Big Game". Last one I count was knocking off #3 Michigan and essentially sending that program into its current downward spiral.

I pray that Floyd will stick around for his Senior year. Rudy too...I feel that Rudy is a lock to go to the league after this year. Floyd could be convinced to stick around.

yep, and since they went into said spiral the country as a whole laughs at that one as a big game... the last certified one was prob. the FSU win Ty's first year... yeah that long ago.

I'm excited to help start this off on the right foot. My last game in the stadium was USC '07.

Can't wait to get that taste outta my mouth.

We contributed to that, but I think Appalachian State is the ones who really sent Michigan down the toilet bowl.

I'm most excited to see the new staff, and see our team play with intensity for four quarters. I'm excited to see Michael Floyd (possibly) break records. I'm excited to see Dayne Crist in action. I'm even excited to see our new jerseys. Overall, I just want football to start!

Go Irish!

Maybe this is just optimism masquerading as logic, but I feel based on all the close losses last season (six by 28 pts total - 4.67 average) despite a flawed defensive strategy; stale offensive playcalling (fade, bubble screen, etc); lack of conditioning & little positive emotion... it won't take a lot to get to where we'd like to be.

I can't shake the feeling that solid outings in the first 3 games will break that "mental logjam" and by experiencing initial success will create a feedback loop and open up a big 'ol can of whoopazz on the rest of our opponents!

28-20 victory against #8 Michigan in 2004?
17-13 victory at #9 Tennessee in 2004?

People forget how good of a team we were in 2005. We lost to MSU in OT by 3 points, and lost to USC by a push. Even though a lot of the teams on our schedule that year weren't ranked highly, a lot of them were just outside of the top 25, and we beat them pretty handedly week in and week out.

Getting run over by OSU in the BCS game leaves a bad taste in people's mouth about that season, but that was a championship caliber football team.

i remember! really that ohio state game was closer than it looked too, they called back a zibby td that would have really turned the momentum around. awesome season. 2006 wasnt half bad either but with the expectations so high it was almost impossible to live up to it.

sigh...cant live in the past anymore, im so excited to see what crist can do, its gonna look like BQ is back there taking snaps again!

And i am so ready for manti to lay that first crushing hit to someone! cant wait!

I can't wait to see both our offensive and defensive lines "Longo-ized". I want to see both groups pushing some people around more than in recent years.

at this moment....i'm excited for the season to come. in addition to that, i'm excited to see a well balanced (meaning good to solid on both sides of the ball) and a prepared football team. coach kelly has impressed me so far with his talk to the press. let's see how it translates to his coaching. i'm may be overly optimistic, but hey....i'm always this way before the season starts.

GO IRISH!!!

I am tired of some ND fans on facebook saying we are going to the NC this year. I can't take then serious anymore. Anyway, I ready to see what Kyle does
