Mike Frank and co on ISD podcast kept going on about how "very important players" were affected by covid this past week which leads me to believe its Book or the OL.

Or it is Mike Frank being dramatic as usual. Did he go on for about 15 mins in a nasally voice about his assumptions?

Your thoughts?

today's ND COVID update. 2 new positives, 7 currently in iso, 4 in quarantine.

Great news, unless those two guys are Book and JOK.

They probably knew who they were when they put out the depth chart at 11:15

Safe to say (based off a tweet from a weekish ago I think? and the depth chart (usually NG #3)) Jamion Franklin is one of the players currently unavailable.

Am I the only one who wasn't expecting to see Kiser on the two deep? He was third string for a reason. The other two are healthy again. I'd be willing to bet the other two would have had big stats with USF scheme/talent level also.

I was definitely expecting Kiser to be in the 2-deep. Kid got the game ball last game. He was all over the field making big plays. I understand we haven’t seen a ton of Simon or Liufau yet...but I definitely haven’t seen either of them making plays like Kiser with their opportunities. I don’t think he should be starting yet...but he definitely deserves to be in the rotation with the other 2 for now.

Really wish this was like the NFL and they could flex this game to 2:30 so it isn’t at the same time as Miami vs Clemson

Guessing as long as he doesn't have the rona, he'll see action as we should roll.

Night game is good for us. Last time it was super cold when Florida State came up here, and they played like ass...like worse than how they were already stinking up that season. It won't be as cold Saturday as that 2018 game, but I'll take it.

[EDIT] Fuck, I was expecting mid 40s to maybe even 30s for a night game given what the weather has been like lately, but it looks like there's a low of 55 for South Bend Saturday. Nevermind!

IIRC it was low 30’s to start the game and finished around 28 degrees. The were running for the heat when they came off the field. Low 50’s should still be pretty cold for them as temps in North Florida have still been around 80.

I certainly appreciate the cold argument against southern teams, but if we need to rely on the cold against THIS FSU squad, we have bigger issues with this 2020 team.

Even with the season "restart" from the CV-19 outbreak, they have no business hanging with us. We should be able to establish the run early and ease Book and the WRs in to the game and I see no reason why we shouldn't dominate their OL with our front 7 and impose our will from the first whistle.

It might be a slow start a la Duke but I don't see us having a problem over the course of four quarters. Too lopsided of a match up.

Will be super bizarre watching a night game with essentially an empty stadium...talk about a BLACKOUT.

FSU played like ass, but they were no worse than they had been at most points of that season.

Keep in mind, 6 of FSU's 7 losses that season were by 19 or more points. It could've been played in Tallahassee in the middle of September and ND still would've beaten them by 20+.

Hope after two weeks of crazy quarantine and uncertainty we can come out strong. This is a new layer of uncertainty to a program that can already come out flat against a team we should dominate like we did in the duke game.

I cannot wait to inevitably yell at the tv at 9PM on Saturday after downing a bottle of wine.

Wine on GameDay? We at a UT game or something? C'mon man..
It's late man and I haven't had wine in a while. Does it help if it's cheap wine? I've had to stay off spirits recently and FSU ain't a big tense game like Clemson.

For me Clemson might just be budget whiskey so I can drink a couple bottles all night.

I don't think anyone is really worried about FSU where they hope for cold weather. Just another factor that could contribute to them playing even worse if that's possible.

Predicting high of 76 and a low of 55, so it will probably be around 60 at kickoff.
