Either Utah's defensive front is much better than I thought they were, or there are some serious flaws with ASU's offense. They've looked like crap in Kelly's games back.

ASU wins, setting up a showdown next week!

ASU wins. Flawed team but very good. Their OL has lots of issues with pressure and they aren't built to operate in the red zone.

Hope Cody comes to play next week if he's on Strong. That guy is a beast.

This past week's Sagarin Predictor Model had ND a 0.37, or less than 1/2, point favorite in Tempe.

Didn't see the game, but ASU out gained them 444 to 241. Sounds like it shouldn't have been that close.

Thanks to the US Army I've been all over God's green earth and there is no place worse than the fucking desert. Scorpions, snakes, cactus, sand and heat, then in populated areas it's the same except you add in bus loads of senior citizen's. Let's beat the crap out of these sand dwelling kids that couldn't afford to go to a school in California or wanted to shack up with grandma while they go to college and move on. :)

Second worse place on earth is the Artic zones followed closely by the jungle.

I think Utah has the most sacks in the country.

So excited to go to this game. ASUs does worry me with it being in the same style as UNC but more efficient. I can't stand Graham and his Backstreet Boys headset he wears. That and the lack of integrity the guy has shown

You forgot the italics BobD

The new Sagarin Predictor Model.has ND a 0.57, or 1/2, point underdog in the desert.

ESPN's power rating system only gives them a 37% chance of winning. It only gave ND a 82% of beating Navy.

Gonna be a warm game now it looks like 86 on saturday

If 86 is the new forecast high it will still be in the upper 70's at the start of the game and won't reach the high until the end of the game and wit h the humidity under 20%, mid 80's in Phoenix feels like mid 70's back east. One more bit of good news is ASU has elected to wear their black uni's for the game so ND will be in their whites. I was afraid they would pull a Miami Dolphins and make the Irish wear their home blues in the sun.

I'll never count out a golson-led team, but I also doubt we win this one without Schmidt. the hurry up offense (and the triple option apparently) are hard for this defense to stop already and without a defensive "quarterback", I don't trust the safeties to make the right calls.

I am not feeling great about this one. to many things at work against us. todd graham has always been a thron in bk's s side, heat of the day Arizona, and we never play well the week after navy. 2-5 since 2007 with those wins being wake forest 24-17 (2011) and purdue 20-17 (2012).

the thing that keeps my hopes up is last years asu team with grice and Sutton in my opinion were better than this years asu squad and tommy led us to a neutral site victory. fast forward to this season I think we are hands down better than we were last year. so I see no reason why a golson cant lead this team to a nice road win.

It would surprise me if Utah's defense is better than ours. And I'm pretty sure our offense is better than Utah's. ASU only beat Utah by three in overtime. Also, while we're banged up, ASU's got to be banged up too. They've had a tough stretch.
I think if we play well, we win.

Maybe the speed of Morgan will help against their offense. The key for Morgan will be to minimize his errors.

Anyone thinking Onwualu might just stay on the field in a 4-2-5 alignment, and take Morgan off?

A week ago I'd have felt great about this match up, as BVG wants to play in the nickel as much as he can. Now, not so much.

Are you sure Onwualu is going to play? Did he pass his protocol? The last I heard was Kelly's conference after the game and he noted that James seemed to recover well by the end of the game. But, will they risk playing him this weekend?

He passed the first rounds of testing. Kelly mentioned it yesterday.
