If Clemson has any pride this should be their Super Bowl. They still have talent, especially on defense. We need to show up and stomp on them from the start and not give them any hope.
That’s what it comes down to. Think of ND after the UL loss. They had to get back up for their biggest rival in prime time to get the bad taste out of their mouth from last year in the Coliseum and the shitting the bed the week prior in Louisville. That’s what Clemson is looking at. Or, maybe a better comparison; is ND hosting Clemson last year after accruing three losses w/ two of them being embarrassing & Clemson being undefeated & top 5.

All that being said, if ND can’t beat Clemson it will have been a disappointing season.

True but we lost to the better RB & the stouter D
I like our defense against their offense. I also like our offense against their defense. They turnover the ball a bunch and don’t force turnovers.

I’m taking us more than a td score to win. I’ve watched all their games. I’m not worried all things being equal. We need to show up and play the games we are capable of playing.

Big game again for Parker to show we can move the ball even if running game slows a bit against a good D.

I guess crazier things have happened but there's no way Shipley plays Saturday right? Dude pretty much laid motionless on the field after taking the hit yesterday

Yeah that didn’t look good. It wasn’t a dirty hit by the defender but more about the way Shipley‘s body position was as the defender hit him.

I like Notre Dame's defense against just about anyone. Straight up.

Now if the offense f*cks everything up like they did against Louisville, which they're entirely capable of doing, that's where I get incredibly nervous. This is probably one of Clemson's three biggest games this season outside of FSU and SCar. That's relevance, folks. Thankfully they're not hyping it with a night game kickoff.

This ND secondary really should hand Clemson's QB his lunch and dinner.

No Will Shipley is big. Mafah is a solid back but not nearly as dynamic as Shipley.

The hit he took was pretty vicious and I hope he is okay.

Clemson is a few untimely turnovers away from being undefeated and being in the top 5. They just can't get out of their own way. If we cant force turnovers, this game will be a slugfest.
They rank 96th in the NCAA in Turnover difference meaning their turnover differential is horrible We should be able to force some TOs. They rank 121 in Redzone efficiency and we rank #2 in Red Zone defense efficiency. Their offense is not great in many facets. Shipley is likely to be out. They have many injuries to important players this year and Klubnik is error prone. Based on Hartmans's history against Clemson, I like where we stand.

While I understand the point, this is the same tired excuse they have used the last few years. In 2021 it was the one score loss versus UGA and the 2OT loss to NCSU. A bunch of what ifs. Last year they were throttled by ND and still had a chance for the playoffs but choked it away against a cheating, but still mediocre USC junior. They really didn't beat anyone of substance and got their ass handed to them versus the best two teams they played (and Tennessee was an obvious shell of what they were earlier in 2022). This is now year three in a row of this. At some point, it stops being bad luck and is more of who you are.

Yes but also a good offense finds ways to survive some turnovers, and they have not.

Nah. You can brush away a loss or two by untimely turnovers. Not 4.

Clemson is also 0-4 against teams with records above .500. Their wins came against FCS Charleston Southern, Florida Atlantic (4-4) and Syracuse and Wake, who are both at the bottom of the ACC.

Has he been reported as out? ND is out their #1 TE (and arguably most reliable receiver) and the 2 CBs & Jaden Thomas don’t sound like they’ll be ready either.

Freeman said today the 2 CBs will play this weekend.

He's in concussion protocol so hard to imagine he plays this weekend.

Just trying to clarify...it sounds like OUR Jayden Thomas is out?

Given it was Pitt, my thought was both were held out more as precautionary than anything.

With Evans out, does Parker go to the spread a little more?

Good deal. Maybe they weren’t too dinged up to begin with but ND figured they could survive Pitt w/o them
