Visions of 2011 dancing through my mind right now. I hope everyone can get healthy for this game.

This season, imo, comes down to going 2-0 and riding high into the off season. ND can't beat themselves. They can't sputter on offense. They can't allow Stanford to jump out with an early lead. They have to play a flawless game. They're fully capable of doing it. I just have a feeling Stanford will be playing for so much more and won't let ND take away a BCS bid from them.

This is now your Super Bowl, ND. Lets get it!

I've got a feeling this game could resemble a scene from the movie 300. And ND would not be the 300 Spartans.

Unless ND gets healthy fast AND plays their best game of the season, it will end up like the 300 Spartans but with a lot less casualties on the other side.

As nice as it would be to finish 2-0 and back in the Top 25, I don't see us beating Stanford without a serious advantage in TO margin. I will hope for a competitive game and a chance to win but anything short of a 21 point blow out will be tolerable in my book. Not pleasant but tolerable.

Gonna be tough to get pressure on Hogan with a depleted front 7. Then again, we haven't gotten consistent great pressure all season it feels like.

Hogan isn't going to win or lose this game for them, regardless of the time he has in the pocket. It'll be tough to stop Gaffney with a depleted front 7, though. Maybe Farley moves up to give us 8 in the box and Shaw gives up on the run.

This USC vs Stanford game might be rigged. Stanford was short 2 inches on a 4th down conversion (when measured) and Stanford was given the 1st down anyway. Any USC's punter was just run into on a 4th and 3 and there wasn't a flag.

Hogan hamstrings Stanford so much it is insane. He's like their version of a more athletic Rees.

Hogan is more athletic than Rees but he is really inaccurate. Honestly I think I would rather have Rees than Hogan.

You just read my mind Lax. They have better QB's coming in, though if they still had Luck I shudder to think how good they'd be.

If we play like we are capable of we can play at the best of our abilities we should beat them. Hopefully we are healthy and we beat the cougars first.

Wow didn't see this happening. Hogan pulling a full on Rees with his two pics, redzone missed read in coverage and a very poor chuck and pray late in the game. USC just was jacked from start to finish.

Any else think it is kind of crazy how we have fallen to both Michigan and Pitt, but have beaten Arizona St., USC, and Michigan St.

College football is weird

Yup the odds that atleast one of Ryan Burns, Keller Chryst, and possibly Josh Rosen doesn't turn into a 1st round pick is pretty slim.

There 2013 recruiting class was pretty crappy all things considered except QB Burns and LB Kalambayi. There class this year is pretty meh too except QB Chryst and DE Leleao. Unless there coaching is that freaking good, I find it hard to believe they will be able to keep up BCS seasons every year....but as we have seen QB play is everything and they will certainly have that b

ND at full strength would be undefeated. I'm chalking all the crap losses up to injuries after watching this game.

The bright side is Ed O may secure the job. This has Bill Stewart 2.0 written all over it.

Yup. Common thread is that when our defense makes plays and we protect the ball, we win. When Tommy throws huge picks and scheme/injuries negate our D we lose. No doubt we could've beaten the teams we lost to... at the same time, heroic defensive performances were required for our 3 big wins and we could've lost those games if you play them over.

Stanford's fatal flaw is that their offensive skill position players are very below average. So if you can stop their run with your front 7 they're not going to score a lot of points. Can you find a way to score ~21 while protecting the football? If you can you have a legitimate chance to beat Stanford.

I would be very pleased with a 9-3 finish to the season. If Tommy plays clean games, Notre Dame should win the next two games.

You can't say ND should win against anybody with the way they've played.

This team just lost to Pitt and barely beat Navy.

Stanford will look totally different against ND. I expect the team that beat Oregon to show up, not tonight's version. The ND norm.

ND should be a heavy underdog to both BYU and Stanford IMO. Unless the running game can get going (which it likely won't) Tommy is not good enough to win games putting everything on his arm unless the defense is pitching near shutouts. The defense, as banged up as it is, should not be counted on to do anything close to that in the next two games.
