No on Farley making the soccer team, they are ranked #3 and in the Sweet 16. Really he isn't good enough on either field or the pitch.

Look at the teams that won or competed for titles the last ten years... MOST of them had, at minimum, a QB that really protected the ball, many had flat studs at QB... It's such a critical position... Thank you Tommy for your efforts... Ill look back fondly for the most part, with that said ND has GOT to improve at QB moving forward.

Amen. This isn't a tough loss for me. I expected a blowout and we hung with them. If we would have had Nix, I think we would have beat them. I'm real proud of the effort that out injury/suspended squad put out there tonight. It came down to the end. What more can you ask for when you are a more than 2 TD dog?

Take any teams qb from the bcs top 20 & replace Rees with them & we win the game. 1 more game left with him & thank god he'll be gone. Hopefully Kelly & staff can recruit a qb and actually keep them more then a year to avoid more shitty qb play.

Terrible play call. I agree. We were moving the ball with short passes and Folston runs and we had 5 minutes to drive down the field. Even if we scored on that play, Stanford had more than 4 minutes to drive down the field and Farley at safety.

Dude, give it a Fucking rest. The team played their hearts out tonight and fought till the end. Yes, tommy did throw two bad picks and we lost because we couldn't score late in the 4th. The difference between Kelly and Weis' teams is that a Weis team would have rolled over and died. Our team didn't execute and we lost. It happens. Just be thankful that most of the people making plays tonight have more eligibility next year and we'll have a pretty damn good team next year.

I'll make a more detailed post in Kmoose's thread but the two big takeaways from this game are that A) we played a pretty damn good game considering the opposition, but B) we just don't learn from our mistakes. Same shit, different day

I wonder that often also, ND attempts way too many plus ten yard passes... Idk if its design, checking by Tommy, or reads... But it seems like far more common than it should be...

Since several people have brought it up, I do wish Kelly would have played Zaire this year. Mostly bc we have no experienced QB for next year. What happens if Golson gets denied re-admission? What happens if he gets hurt, or sick? What happens if he is ineligible, etc? We will have Hendrix, if he gets a 5th year, and a redshirt freshman. Would have been nice to have Zaire get some good experience this year.

Yes. Despite everything this team went through since last January they still beat 3 ranked teams, beat one of the best Defenses in the country and battled toe to toe with a top 10 team.

I am very proud of all the young men. Go Irish.

What does that say about Stanford though? Lol. Playing against an injury plagued defense that has Division III caliber safeties and they needed a back up quarterback to throw two costly interceptions for them to win.

I'm only frustrated because the better team didn't win.

27 TDs this year. Top ten in the country in yards per attempt (if I heard correctly). He's not elite, but c'mon. Hyperbole much?

Golson is not expelled, he is suspended. For one semester. Why should anyone worry that he won't be back?

This team played their tails off no doubt. A healthy ND beats stanford. Tommy pressed at the end that's obvious. What can you do though? He has done the best he could with what the good lord gave him.
