I feel the opposite about Pollack. He's been the guy banging the "are you guys crazy, they're obviously in" during prior playoff runs. He also has been extremely complimentary of our defense over the past 5 years.
Agree, Pollack has been complimentary.

This game has OSU-redo written all over it. RTDB and control clock. Keep their offense off the field. USC should be shitting themselves over this matchup.....cuz it aint good for them, imo. They haven't seen a pass defense like ND's and their defense isn't stopping our 3-headed monster. ND ML all day, er day.

I agree defensively they've gotta be somewhat worried about this game, and I'm expecting a bit of a shoot out. Turnovers are going to be critical.

96th ranked defense in the country, 68th against the run and 105th against the pass. BUT, they're number one in the country in turnover margin by a LOT. 25 turnovers defensively vs. only 4 giveaways (21 margin). next closest: SJSU, with a margin of 13.

Dont get cute, pound the rock and make them stop it. I love the emergence of Colzie these past few weeks, too. He seems to have good rapport with Pyne when he gets into scramble mode.

Fun fact: ND is up to 17th in the country in total defense, ahead of Clemson at 18. Keep up the good work boys.

Feel like this will be very similar to UNC. ND controls from the first quarter on, even though USC is going to get theirs.

No idea how it plays out really. Judging from what I watched last weekend ND better play tight coverage and seal the edge of the pocket while getting consistent pressure. Easily said,…. They had better not leave points on the field either.

I can see us repeating Clemson, I can see them boat racing us, I can see it coming down to one play all pretty much equally. Can’t remember the last time I felt that way about a game,… I’ll blind guess we dominate the first half, they are shocked by our physicality and it shows. We take a two score lead into the second half and it still comes down to the very end.

Time of possession will be important in this game……if ND can be in the 35 minutes plus zone, their chances for victory will be excellent. No turnovers suffered by the good guys will solidify it. Obviously we can’t have 6 or 7 minute drives with no points. One special teams victory and a USC turnover would be ideal. In other words, let’s make sure ND plays their best game of the season to take any mystery out of the game 😆

i can see this game being like the Clemson game where we basically blow up the USC front seven and run the ball all night down there throats but another part of me thinks the USC QB CW just lights up our defense with his arm and running ability and makes this the game where he wins the heisman award

I might be wrong but USC blowing us out is the bottom of my probability card.

I guess I'm trying to think of the last time our defense didn't play well enough to win us a game and we got lit up. Even those Clemson Alabama playoff games the eventual blowout was largely due to the fact that our defense was playing heroically but our offense was obviously never going to score. Unless we have some really uncharacteristically bad night, I just don't see our offense being ineffectual against this defense.

Spoiled children are confidant going into this one already. They think they've got it wrapped up already because "Marshall & Stanford." I hope they get the Clemson version of ND instead, they won't have a chance if the team comes out that motivated.

So SC has a 6’6” LB who has patrolled the passing lanes this season. He’s gonna have a field day w/ our Oompa Loompa trying to throw around/over/past him.

I see it going like OSU for them offensively. The quarterback will make a lot of plays to extend drives making us wish we had a difference maker. Hopefully the offense shows up like the Clemson game and we can keep them off the field.
