And there are zero stories about, while Brian Kelly being terse with a reporter was national news. Shaw literally ran over to an SDSU player, got in their face, but a hand on them, and then went and started screaming at an SDSU coach... because he wasn't happy with how they were leaving the field.

Can anyone imagine if Brian Kelly got into a shouting match with another HC at halftime, much less puts his hands on an opposing player and yelled at them?

Good Lord Lax is right. Kelly would be the worst person in the world.

If Stanford falls apart, it'll be awesome to see what their game day looks like for even their biggest games down the stretch while players are on OV's.

Even the ND game will be empty if they have 4 losses going into it. This scenario hasn't happened in a while so they've gotten by - but they'll be at risk of being really exposed during OVs.

i don't think attendance is a factor for stanford though. players/recruits obviously don't care about it

I think they will if it's 70% empty on the OVs. That hasn't been the case in the last few years. They've been playing for a PAC 12 championship and/or had a great record going into the final games, so they could mask a gameday atmosphere for the big OVs.

I think they might get caught this year when it's crunch time. Hopefully.

Has the long foretold dropoff finally happened? If so, Shaw still keeps his job for 4 years

I wouldn't write them off just yet. They had a bad loss to Northwestern early in 2015 and went on to win the rose bowl. They also had some ugly losses last year UW, Wazzu and Colorado but still won 10 games.

Agree. Their issue is strictly QB play. If they turn to a young gun like Costello and he gives them a spark who knows what their ceiling is.

Right now, their defense isn't quite good enough to carry them when they can't run the ball. In fact, their defense might be in for some tough sledding against Oregon, Washington, and Washington State. On paper they look like a 6-to-8 win team if they don't make changes.

Two brothers working things out. Nothing to see here says the media. Dude gets another pass.

I went to the stanford game in '07 to watch a couple of 3 win teams. A couple of rows at the top were empty, that's it. Crowd was was more than half ND.

can't believe how bad they are, very not like stanford really

Lot of chatter about Shaw to the Colts. Yes please.

Why doesn't Stanford put in the 47 Safeties & DBs that went there instead of here and see how that works for them

Yep, would be front page on espn.com and Deadspin would have a baker's dozen worth of articles about it already. It's one of the more glaring biases in college football.

Don't look now but Stanford went to KJ Costello last night and instantly stopped sucking.

Yup :/ Went from being an easy win in my eyes to what will now be a tough game. Hopefully that's not how Costello plays the rest of the way. At least not against us.

I'm not sure how good Oregon is but Stanford looks good

Oregon is not good. All their best players are either out with injuries or playing but banged up. Probably would have been a good game in week one or two.

I dunno. S&P has them at 22 going into this week (Stanford at 18, Notre Dame at 13 fwiw). This is going to be a tough tough game after Navy.

I'm interested in seeing how ESPN tries to fluff up Barkley next week for the Heisman with Gameday at Happy Valley with Love just trucking defenses right now.

3rd Q, Bryce Love is "in the tent" according to the announcers.

Turned Ankle. Left field without assistance.

Stanford and Notre Dame are #1 and #2 in yards per rush right now, 7.7 and 7.1 respectively.

Not surprisingly, Love and Adams are at the top for RBs with Love's absurd 10.3 ypr making Adams' 9.2 look less stellar.

This could be a battle for the Heisman.

Stanford got a break on a 6 yd Oregon St punt and couldn't get it done. Got one First Down but had a settle for a FGA ... hooked it. No score!
