It matters in terms of protecting us from getting bumped to #4 in the "chaos scenarios". I still maintain that there is a 0% chance in any remotely objective system that ND gets left out entirely if undefeated, but being the #4 seed and playing Bama in the first round is a death sentence and stops us from having a chance at a major bowl win.

Good point. I was assuming they will stay #3.

I've listened a bit on Sirius xm- game was carried on the Catholic station-. What I listened to wasn't bad.

Yes. The Catholic Channel (can’t recall the station #) broadcasts every ND game. Don Criqui & Allen Pinkett have been replaced by Paul Burmeister & Ryan Harris. You can hear them on the ICON videos intermingled between the TV broadcast team when showing highlights.

Criqui was good back in his heydey doing NFL games but he got to be a cranky old fan when they brought him in to replace the great Tony Roberts. He let his emotions (frustration) cloud his calls. The new team seems to have their stuff together. I assume Burmeister is not an ND alum like Criqui.

Let's say Notre Dame gets a blowout over Syracuse. Not saying that will happen, but in the hypothetical that it does...

...is there any grounds for Clemson being #2 over Notre Dame? Notre Dame would have better SOS, better wins, better performance against their one shared quality opponent, and be undefeated. The only argument I can think of is that Clemson beat Wake and FSU by larger margins.

I won’t listen to the CFP show debate b/c it’ll just piss me off but from reading feedback, it sounds like the ESPN talking heads have thrown objectivity out the window and are lobbying hard for ND to fall out of the top 4. Or more accurately, they’re just really hoping someone knocks ND out so they can say “told you so”.

Either way, I think the opinions have clouded fairness and that leaves an undefeated ND behind Bama & Clemson assuming they stay undefeated. If the CFP ends the same way it is now (which would be a first), Clemson would get to chose the sight of the semi-final (after Bama of course) so I assume they’d choose Miami over Dallas. Don’t think there’s an advantage if ND stays at 3 other than they’ve seemingly had more wins in Dallas than Miami.

Sooooo

There's zero seats worth the price to get in lol.

I'd be pissed if I were paying for a premium ticket on the "50" yard line, and then got to the stadium and realized I still needed binoculars.

4-4:45 p.m. — Notre Dame Band concert at Bryant Park featuring special guests Fighting Irish football alumni Corey Robinson and Justin Tuck.

Corey is going to be such a great ambassador for us, for such a long time to come. Love him and his family.

Anyone going to the ND party Friday night at The Public House? Also sounds like The Dugout might be a good spot to go before the game.

The Dugout is a dump but it's one of like 2 bars that are walking distance to the stadium.

You don't want to sit front row behind the foul pole 50 or so yards away from the sideline? What's wrong with you? It's only $416 on Stubhub right now.

Go to Billy’s on River. Dugout is a shithole. Stan’s is a dump too.

Since I'm driving during the game, I'm looking into how to listen to the game via radio. My buddies recommended either SiriusXM or an app called TuneIn. Does anybody have any experience using either for ND games?

Sirius Catholic channel is the way to go. Tunein is hard to find the games at times. There should be a free trial of Sirius and you can stream it on your phone. I have an event at 5:30 and will have to do Sirius for the ending.

I went to the Pinstripe Bowl between Rutgers and ND in 2013. Sat third base side about the 20 yard line in second deck if I remember correctly. It was a pretty good view. But yeah there are some bad seats no doubt....

It's crazy... given where we were two years ago... that now we're at the point of talking about how badly need to blow out the #12 team in the country on a neutral field.

Not "can we get a big win over a highly ranked team?" it's "do we cover the 10 point spread and look good doing it."

I think part of the issue is that Syracuse and "highly ranked team" are not often said together. Regardless of how good they might be, or how high they might be ranked, they are still Syracuse. Not saying it's right, it just is....

A close win over a big name, but lower ranked TX, Florida, or PSU, would likely be looked at better from the general masses and talking heads, compared to a close win over Cuse. So unfortunately, style points might matter.

Great point. Honestly, this is what we all wanted and Kelly finally looks like he may be able to put a couple stellar years together. Hopefully a corner was turned after that 2016 season.
