Tyree was not a five star, but I get what you are saying. He seems like a good guy, but he was the least dynamic 5 star back I’ve ever seen.
Tyree is now too.He was a receiver.
I think Virginia beating Pitt last week actually makes me feel much better about this not being a classic letdown spot for our boys this weekend.UVA had a bye week after being rolled by Clemson and UNC. They beat Pitt in Pittsburgh.
This is yet another game where a focused ND should do what they do and be able to take care of business. Yes, we must always remember the Marshall and NIU Alamos, and it is clear that Marcus Freeman is in their collective ears about that. Nobody quit your day jobs.
Composite he was 70th (24/7 was lowest at 138) - but yes, was still not a 5*. Devyn Ford was 79th - so was Jeremiyah Love.Tyree is now too.
And Tyree was not a 5 Star.
He wasn’t even top 100 composite. (138)
Agreed. Seemed to handle the position switch with humility last year when we had strong depth at RB but were lacking the #s at WRs. I was surprised when I looked up his stats, his numbers aren't all that impressive. I thought a team like UVA would've used a "gadget" player like him a lot, but he only has a handful of carries, 20+ catches and less than 200 all-purpose yards. no TDs.Here’s hoping Tyree gets a rousing cheer when his name gets called. Always seemed like a good kid and hard worker who ended up stuck between positions and had to transfer for more reps.
All good points.I think Virginia beating Pitt last week actually makes me feel much better about this not being a classic letdown spot for our boys this weekend.
1st: Freeman gets an easy motivating factor to show the boys Virginia just went on the road and beat a ranked opponent.
2nd: UVA beating Pitt took a lot of pressure off them as far as making a bowl and now they just need to win one of thier two remaining games, home to SMU and on the road vs VA Tech, which are both much one winnable then against ND in South Bend.
That may not sound all that important, but you need to remember thier program hasn't made a bowl game this decade, so 6 wins is a big deal for them.
Purely for our entertainment. If people stock clicking/viewing, they'd stop, but they won't. It's up to us to weed out which are better than others. I like Josh Pate. He calls it like he sees it most of the time. Why do talking heads still give predictions? They’re less reliable than presidential polls. It’s one of the most meaningless yet incessant things the sports media does.
"Expert panel"Rankings:

I personally find him entertaining, and he donates a $hit ton of cash to charity. He also did a really good job of taking care of the guys who have been loyal to him since the beginning of his media journey. For that, I respect him.I don't buy into the Pat Mcafee schtick, and because of that I believe I'm on the right side of history.

That being said, I can totally see how his persona isn't for everyone. I do think he's got a unique capability to fire up a crowd which is fun to watch on Saturday mornings.
People seem to point this out a lot about him and people like him. I think it's great, and I don't necessarily think he's a bad guy or anything, but he's absolutely not for me when it comes to sports media. He really doesn't do anything for me at all.I personally find him entertaining, and he donates a $hit ton of cash to charity. To your later point, I'm a huge fan of Kirk's and am quick to defend him. There are way worse homers out there (Desmond for example). Kirk is he best in the biz IMO.People seem to point this out a lot about him and people like him. Game Day is just meh at this point. If it is ever on it's background noise, and really isn't on unless world football is on international break, which happens to be this weekend....
As for him being a Notre Dame hater, I really don't know about that and could truly care less. People used to break Herbie's balls because he always picked Ohio State every week. Nevermind they're typically favorites more often than not and have been now for the last several years.
Definitely think he was better pre-ESPN, I'm 100% with you there.I thought he was fine on his old internet show. He was dude-bro but the persona felt genuine. Now that he's on ESPN and hamming it up I think he's the cringiest human being on the planet.
I've always liked him. I don't think he's as good as he used to be in terms of his analysis, but I like him. I read his book and really enjoyed it. He's a real dude and he's living the dream doing what he's doing. Not to say McAfee isn't real, he's just not my bag.To your later point, I'm a huge fan of Kirk's and am quick to defend him. Is this the most impressive throw by a ND QB post-Clausen? Think so.
