Even though I was down on the team all day yesterday for the piss poor defensive performance I'm not really worried about this game or Miami. I know some people are wetting their pants comparing Miami to UGA after their defense handled a mediocre VT but come on. Miami runs a pretty vanilla offense, it is like a less good version of USC's offense. Their QB sucks.

I'm not sure we score 40 or anything because to give credit where it is due, their defense is pretty good but we are a more complete team. Our offense is far more dynamic and our defenses are comparable though I'd give the edge to Miami.

We are easily the best team they've played all year and the best offense as well. They are like 5th best offense we've seen all year and the 2nd best defense.

We ain't gonna win this one...we gotta play perfect if we expect to and I'm afraid we are too banged up. These guys are gonna try and injure Adams and BW. They may even be better than UGA. This one is gonna be another heartbreaker I'm afraid especially since we allowed Wake Forest to kink out armor like they did.
LMAO this is a joke, right?

This one worries me, a lot. But if Q and McG bring their lunch pails we should be fine. Our D needs to come up big too.

Miami's defense appears to play really fast and relies on forcing turnovers. It will be interesting to see how our OL has progressed against the fastest and most aggressive defense since Georgia. Ball security is going to be a major key to the Irish success next weekend. 4 To's by Va Tech really put the whammy to them ... especially near and within the red zone.

Of the 9 playoff contenders (0-1 loss power 5 teams), UM is the worst offensive team and ND is 2nd. Miami has the 7th best defense and ND 8th. This game will be difficult really early as Manny Diaz, the DC, will put this hyped up defense in blitzing-more early (see VT game) and try and get some TFL to hype up the crowd and players. The CBs will cheat coverages to try and get INTs like we did against NC St except we have better burners at the WR position. Also, they lost their all-world RB Mark Walton but Travis Homer and Malik Rosier are more than capable. We really need to have lane control when we rush the passer because Rosier is a different QB in the pocket vs when he’s out of the pocket. He’s not a great pocket passer and I think that’s being kind. Should be a fun one and it’ll be interesting to see what kind of tone gets set. ND has played 3 road games already so they are battle-tested a bit so I think we pull this one out.

I hope we kick their ass they are a bunch of cocky idiots. The one thing that scares me is their QB starting to run now

Just look at Rudy89's posting history. Everything is about dumping Kelly, not being good enough, etc.

He's a scarred ND fan, just let him try to pass on his anxiety through a messageboard and move on.

I can see penalties being a factor in this game. I didn't watch them against VT, but what I've seen of Miami is a lot of undisciplined play. I expect to see a lot of yellow flying around as the Convicts turn that swagger into straight up dirty playing.

Their defense looked pretty aggressive last night. Our OL will have to play well - as it is certainly capable of - and win the line of scrimmage. Expect a big game on the ground.
But if their game is built around forcing turnovers, that's OK by me. We've had exceptional ball control all season. I don't know why that would change come Saturday.

I like to look at Miami’s whole body of work and not just the Tech game. They play down to their competition. Look at the NC game. If Notre Dame comes out and punches them like they did at MSU. It’s a blowout

I hope you are right-my factors-heat/emotion/they haven't tasted defeat yet and they are on a roll/crowd will be nasty. If they get by this one they will have really earned it. Tough tough game. Irish must somehow control the game with the run and Wimbush doing his thing. Tony Rice with better passing skills but a lot falls on Wimbush for this game.

They will be tough to block on pass-light ultra quick and slippery run the ball.
