I'm getting married in October... but I chose a Friday. That was literally the only thing I decided about my wedding haha. (And the honeymoon to Dublin and London, which will conflict with the USC game, but at least I'm not subjecting anyone else to that conflict).

Hit me up before you head over dude I'll write you up a list of good stuff to see and do.

Take a trip to Old Forge, PA... small town of 8,000 that supports 20 local pizza joints. Stop in at Ghigiarelli's or Arcaro & Genell's, get the double crusted white pizza, and then come back here and tell me I'm wrong.

After Old Forge, go a few towns over and try out Sabatini's, or DeMuro's, or Fort Cafe, or Victory Pig (famous for fried pizza), or Grotto... I could go on and on. There are literally hundreds of pizza places in NEPA.

NYC is good and I've had some get slices there, but it can't touch the variety or creativity of NEPA pizza. Also, Chicago deep dish sucks.

I've been to Old Forge and am telling you that your out of your mind. It's good stuff, but the battle of best pizza will always and forever be fought between Chicago and NY. I don't even like Chicago-Style pizza, except for when i'm in Chicago... then I want to rub it all over my body.

PA has good pizza in the same manner that Cali does. Good enough to be its own genre and have a following, but let's not get out of hand here.

You're sitting here having me listen to kid rock and telling me he is better than Seger. Not having it...

My family is way too large for low-key, and the numbers and timing that my fiance wanted made fall our only option, really. So I had to put my foot down on making it a Friday, at least.

The only thing I have to worry about is trying to watch ND-USC from London the next week lol.

Your first mistake was inviting your family... ;)

I hate Chicago style but I give it more respect that NY pizza. At least it's a unique brand. "NY style" pizza is nothing more than good pizza. There is nothing noteworthy about it, except the fact that the best NY joints do it extremely well.

The reason I think NEPA is better is because you have your unique brands (Old Forge-style or Victory Pig style) but you can also go to one of the many Mom and Pop joints that will serve a NY slice just as good as anything you can get in the city.

Anytime dude, are you just hanging around the city or renting a car and heading out?

We'll just be hanging around the city. We'll be there for 4 days, but the 4th day will pretty much be eating, packing, and catching the flight to London. This is an out-of-country trial run for me, so we weren't worried about having our own transportation this time around. We do have tickets for the hop-on-hop-off service for a day or two, so we should be able to get around pretty well still.

That's not true. NY pizza is distinctly enormous (generally 18 inches), flat, and foldy.

No worries dude plenty of public transport here to get you around, you won't need a car unless you wanted to head out and see the countryside anyways. :)

Yeah that's the only thing I'm bummed about. I'd love to see the Cliffs of Moher, but it will be hard and potentially too time-consuming to make that work.

I met a guy from Dublin recently, and he was telling me about a place comparable to the Cliffs that he actually prefers as a local. It might be somewhere in the north? I wish I could remember what he called it, but I was under the influence at the time.

It's crazy to me that you still think your area has the best food in the country. It simply isn't true.

Best Pizza - NY/Chicago
Best Italian - NY/Chicago
Best Steak Sammich - Philly
Best Greek - Chicago
Best Ribs - Memphis or somewhere else in the south
Best Seafood - The Southeast US
Best Hot Dog - Chicago
Best Chili - Texas
Best Mexican - Tejas, New Mexico and Colorado all give Cali a run for their money.

Just because you guys have cornered the market on hummus and couscous, doesn't mean that you have the best food. Plus Cali has the worst government, worst people and worst sense of superiority. I love your weather and scenery, but you don't have that market cornered there either.

I ate kale once. Woke up in the middle of the night with explosive diarrhea. That shit is not meant for human consumption.

haha, I love most greens, but kale is basically plastic. Even when cooked in pork fat like some styles of collard greens, it comes out like plastic imo... my wife of course loves the stuff, I give 'my share' of it to the rabbits (we have three) and let her pretend I ate it... though we did make kale chips in the oven one time, that's the only edible/enjoyable version I have come across...

Texas for best Mexican food? My experiences have not been so good in Texas. Southern AZ has some great places for Mexican food as well. Also as has been pointed out the Northeast and Seattle have great seafood.

Everyone's tastes vary upon where they grew up and what they became used to through that, with that said, I like Texas a lot, but their food is pretty woeful, none worse than what they consider Mexican food... tex mex is just the worst variation on any ethnic food I've come across and their authentic places are just okayish imo.

I'm also not that big on Texas bbq... probably my least favorite regional style.

I'm with Camp on this one. Tex-Mex is a greasy mess of nacho cheese and ground beef. I much prefer the fresh cilantro, pico de gallo, and shredded pork of Cali-Mex.

Full disclosure: I had a Fritos Burrito from Taco Bell for lunch today. That's 'Merican-Mex.

Your only mistake is not putting all of those ingredients into the same taco.

Slieve League in County Donegal.

Not as famous as Moher (it wasn't promoted by an O'Brien) but 3 times as high.
