I'm worried one of their players is going to try and injure Kreider and/or Henrik. Their coach is a P.O.S. IMO. After the game Saturday he said it was an accident. Sunday he started changing his tune and now he calls it a dirty play now that his goalie is out.

Yea. It's a game coaches play to get more calls from the refs the next game. It works sometimes. I'm quite sure he knows it wasn't intentional. Also, they are trying to get in the Rangers head a little bit. NY has been playing a very level headed game throughout the playoffs, and that is not necessarily good for Montreal.

Price out for the rest of the series.

WOW. Stunning. Montreal fans must be crushed. Boon for the Rangers though.

Hate to see that happen. That particular play was an accident, but I have a big problem with the refs not letting defensemen protect their goalies and calling every retaliations on guys going after goalies. Best example is Chicago's first goal last night. They get a power play because Bollig breaks in the face of Quick and the defensemen give him a little push and gets 2 for it. SMH!

It has always been like this in hockey. You want to touch my goalie? Fine, you will pay the price. This league is becoming like every other sports. For pussies.

Bollig succeeded in stopping short of Quick though, didn't he? He didn't make contact contact with the goalie. But if your point is that the defenseman should get some leeway there, I guess I agree. I mean, it was clear that there was a little acting by Bollig there to draw that penalty. He is a guy who is on the ice for his toughness, and he went down pretty easy there. I mean he was smirking on the ice.

The Rangers better double check the curve on their sticks before game two....

He did stop short, but snow shower on the goalie is a penalty in hockey. Besides, the whistle had been blown and it would had been stupid of him to throw himself on the goalie. He would have been ejected from the game. My point is that if the refs are going to let these things fly, then they should let the defensemen clean up the front of the net.
I am not picking on Chicago here, other teams have been doing this and been getting away with it. Boston is a great example. Just saying that the refs need to do a better job. We see it every year, they get scared of calling certain penalties and create loopholes in the way the game is played.

Wow, five straight! I don't think it mattered who was in net for Montreal tonight. The Rangers are clicking. Definitely didn't expect this after Montreal looked so strong beating Boston. Great win.

No Price doesn't hurt.

No goalie was stopping the St. Louis shot. Price may have stopped Nash but the first goal was flukey so I think Rangers would have won 2 1 anyway assuming everything else stayed the same

Right. Maybe Price stops one of the first two, but Rangers win anyway, and honestly I don't think I'd blame either of them on the goaltender.

I'm sensing a certain poster from the great state of NY making another one of his now infamous avatar bets coming in a round in the near future.

Though in the west things are still very very much up in the air. One of the many personal rules I have when predicting NHL games is that in this day and age you never underestimate and never disrespect the LA Kings.

Absolutely. I was just saying that to a friend on Friday night, and then Game 1 happened and provided yet another example. I can't really explain it, unless it's just Crawford's goaltending.

Part of it is certainly that they are just built for weathering a storm, absorbing energy and channeling it, rather than wasting it by hitting back. That's just Q's philosophy.

Part of it is that they have four guys as skilled as anyone in the league who are supremely equipped to take advantage of whatever chances they get, even if there are fewer than the other team get. The Toews goal was an example. Late in games he and Kane especially just have the killer instinct.

And part of it is that they just have a real knack for scoring ugly goals off redirects of blue-line slapshots. How many Hawks goals in these playoffs have come on plays like the first two goals last night? I bet a strong majority.

Highlight for me was when Hoss leveled Dustin Brown. He is so tough. Someone called him during a recent telecast the most underrated defensive forward in hockey. That toughness is certainly a part of that.

Toffoli is such a good young player. He reminds me of a young Patrick Sharp ... just an ice-cold heartless conscienceless sniper. I almost felt bad for him when he hit that post. Lucky break for the Hawks.

Part of me thinks that Hoss is the best player in hockey, period. It seems that every time the hawks are in a funk he brings them out of it by controlling the puck down low for an extended period of time or making a great play on the back check. No coincidence that the man's been to 4 Cup finals in the past 6 years, and may be on his way to a 5th.

Lol I'm not counting the Canadiens out yet. But yes, I will be offering many bets to all you Hawks fans if it comes to that.

My dad is at the game, his friend (a good friend of our family) who owns a business that does a lot of security for the Blackhawks was in charge of following the Cup last year hooked him tonight.

Love my dad of course but all I could say to him today was "you lucky bastard"!

Still liking the look of things despite that last goal. These games are all going to be tough. LA Kings are too good to blow away.

2 goal leads are always a bitch and the 2nd period has typically been the Hawks worst period these playoffs for whatever reason.

Puck cant bounce your way every night. Gotta come out hot on Saturday and sustain it as well as limiting the stupid penalties.

Great win for the Kings.

As for the Blackhawks I'm kind of glad if they where gonna lose to lose this way. These guys have a lot of pride. If I'm coach Q I know I'm gonna have their attention now after a 3rd period ass kicking like that.

Blackhawks are certainly capable winning on the road, the Kings are certainly capable of winning in Chicago again. It will be a tough series as you would expect at this point of the playoffs. No need to hit the panic button yet.

My mantra this entire postseason has been, "Its a long series." Great win on the road to snap a six game losing streak to the Hawks, but there is still a hard road ahead. Kings won't win many more games if they keep having these slow starts.

Can't wait for Saturday at Staples Center. Should be a blast!

Yowzers! That was like two different games. Hawks completely dominant through the first period and a half, Kings completely dominant down the stretch. What an explosion in the third period. Craziest game I've watched in a while.

All is right tonight.... Go Kings Go!!

The Kings are playing great hockey right now and making the most out of each and every scoring opportunity. These playoffs are very reminiscent of their run two years ago when they peaked in the playoffs and went on to win the cup. Chicago is in big trouble and I'd say that game 4 is pretty much a must win...a position you never want to be in on the road!

GKG!!!

I don't know if it is just me but it seems the Hawks have been out skated and out hustled and after the 1st period in games 2 and 3. It seems like nearly all of the Kings goals have come off of lazy own ice/neutral zone turnovers and then they simply out skate us and end up getting an odd-man rush. Personally would love to see the Hawks slow the game down a ton because I think when they can cycle the puck in the offensive zone and stop the stretch pass on defense we are nearly unbeatable. It would also be nice to get a power play goal once every millenium too.

Went out drinking with some people from my graduating class. I got pretty drunk and pretty upset during the game. After sobering up and getting a chance to process things, I have to agree with all of your statement.
