I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere recently or not, but I was just listening to Mike & Mike and they said that Manti could be the first ND defender to be drafted in the top-20 since Bryant Young in 1994!!! Wow.

And next year Louis will be and the year after that Stephon will be.

Funny story about Joe Namath:

My dad and I started a sports memorabilia collection when I was 13. We did some extensive traveling to make this collection legit. I'm talking Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Eddie Murray, Dan Marino, Bart Starr, etc. etc. etc. (We have over 40 NFL football signed by hall of fame football players and over 40 MLB baseballs signed my hall of famers just to give you guys some perspective)

Anyway, when I was 16 we flew to Newark for a HUGE autograph show (Ernie Banks, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Joe Namath, Bart Starr...). The last day of the show Namath was scheduled to do his signing. My dad and I were waiting for our grouping to be called so we could go line up. We had a very meticulous method to getting these autographs efficiently and getting me in a picture with each of the athletes (it adds a personal quality to the collection).

We finally got near the front of the line. I took the football out of the box while my dad took a few steps back to set up a picture. Joe was super cool with everybody that day and was making small talk with everybody that passed through the line. The person in front of me got his football signed, thanked Joe, and moved on. I then stepped forward and handed him my football.

"Here Mr. Namath, would you sign this for me?" I asked.
"Sure! What's your name son?" he said.
"Andrew", I responded while my dad starting snapping pictures.
"Well, Andrew, take a look at this!"

I watched him as he set the football down, slid a ring off of his finger, and placed it in my hand. I immediately looked at my dad who didn't see what had happened. It was his Super Bowl ring! I tried it on my fingers and slid it off to look it over.

He casually finished signing my ball, handed it back to me, and said, "Have a great day!" Then he moved on to the person behind me, making small talk while he signed another ball. I looked at my dad again and looked back at Joe. HE FORGOT ABOUT HIS SUPER BOWL RING AND IT WAS STILL IN MY HAND! He just kept signing footballs and had no clue. I know he wasn't drunk because he had just gotten out of rehab for like the 100th time.

My dad was putting away the camera and had no idea. I could have slipped it in my pocket and not told anybody. Instead I walked back in line, looked at Joe and said "Uhhh Mr. Namath, here's your Super Bowl ring back."

Yeah man I wouldn't kid you guys about that. I could have walked out of Newark, NJ with Joe Namath's Super Bowl ring and nobody on Earth would have known.

Dead serious. When I gave it back, Joe was like "Oh thanks a bunch.....have a nice day." I don't think he realized that I could have sold it on ebay the next day for $100K.

That is what has been done in the past and not just by me. When you see an obvious problem in the odds or lines you are suppose to PM me not try to throw everything on it before I change it. The correct lines were posted by both me in my first post like normal and the error was pointed out by STLDomer. That is why I post the odds so they can easily be checked if I did screw up. From there everyone's response was get them in before Jade catches it. I am not perfect myself and I have tried to take advantage of bad odds and lines before I started running this. Some worked some bit me in the same way as this one. I have been insanely busy lately and I have missed posting some requests that have upset some people. I try to go out of my way to get this posted, post it in a hurry, and people's response is screw Jade. If anyone would prefer me to stop posting these please let me know. This is all volunteer and it wouldn't hurt me to stop doing this.

I have to say, because I have done it before, if the odds are way out and up for an easy win and you don't let the Bet Setter know and you put the house on that bet, you risk losing your shirt.

This is supposed to be fun, I agree. But if you swim with the sharks prepare to get bit. If you just want to hand out free vbucks, then it doesn't really become fun anymore.

The system sucks in the respect that there is no way to fix errant odds outside of refunding everything and resetting the bets.

So in summary, if you know the odds are screwed and you bet on it anyways, be ready to take it in the hooper. Also I lend vbucks out for a very low interest rate.

They are still good bets.

the big problem is i can't just refund everyone money. i have to cancel this event add up all the bets make anotherl event bet the appropriate amount pay myself then personal gift every amount to each person and i couldn't do anything for those who bet anonymous. it isn't just a button click.

The inability to make refunds from the vFed definitely isn't fair to you making refunds out of your pocket.

As for the anonymous betters, that's the price of anonymity! What happens in vTown stays in vTown! They're all rich old white guys anyway.

Re: Lattimore

Re: Lattimore

His sister, Veta, says he has a six foot, three and one half inches tall invisible friend! a rabbit (actually a pooka), named Harvey. They're BFFs and talk on their iPhones every day for hours at a time sometimes falling asleep.

As to how they met ...

I'd just put Ed Hickey into a taxi. Ed had been mixing his rye with his gin, and I just felt that he needed conveying. Well, anyway, I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Lattimore." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name. And naturally I went over to chat with him. And he said to me... he said, "Ed Hickey was a little spiffed this evening, or could I be mistaken?" Well, of course, he was not mistaken. I think the world and all of Ed, but he was spiffed. Well, we talked like that for awhile and then I said to him, I said, "You have the advantage on me. You know my name and I don't know yours." And, and right back at me he said, "What name do you like?" Well, I didn't even have to think twice about that. Harvey's always been my favorite name. So I said to him, I said, "Harvey." And, uh, this is the interesting thing about the whole thing: He said, "What a coincidence. My name happens to be Harvey.

That's not the point, BGIF.... He changed the game in the middle of it. That ain't right. Make it known that it's a possibility or stay off to the side and set up the next rig.

"That's not the point, BGIF ... "

Point?

I merely reported the slots the various prospects were actually drafted corresponding to the various Under/Over items in the betting event.

Pray tell, what was the point you inferred as I obviously didn't imply any point, did I?

My apology for my benign public service post getting in the way of your hissy fit.
