I was a young man the last time I could watch a game without being frustrated. After watching the Raven's play at the Steelers tonight I really doubt I ever watch another. Penalties, Interceptions, targeting without the penalties. I feel for our kids whom have to deal with the narcissism of those in control of these teams once they get drafted. NFL=WWE

I wouldn't consider a Steelers-Ravens game a good example of how all NFL games are played. That game is a bloodbath.

Without the Giants being respectable, I haven't had the same excitement about the NFL. College is just sooooo much more appealing.

If it wasn't for fantasy football, I would have zero interest in the NFL outside of a few Giants games and the playoffs.

I'm a Colts fan and I find the NFL to be boring just because it's the same thing every year for them. Win 11 games, flame out in the playoffs. Yawn.

I lived through the 80's and the 49ers, Redskins, Bears and Giants. I doubt the NFL will ever match that.

I thought I was the only one who would rather watch grass grow than watch the NFL. Glad to know I'm not alone.

The so called safety era of the NFL and the rule changes are ruining the game.

I disagree. I think it will save the game. With what we know about brain injuries, the NFL would eventually be held criminally liable without changes.

Agreed. I wasn't trying to be argumentative. Just sharing mine.

I completely understand. And games like last night rivals play each other so hard and fast helment to helment is going to happen and most time it wasn't on purpose. If the DB is already committed to hit around the waste and the RB puts his head down to me that's no ones fault but more times then not the db gets called on it.

I think the implementation is messy at times. I cringe at some of the calls, particularly when players are shown on replay to have led with their shoulders.

But I think the commitment to safety is pretty vital to the continued success of the league. Too many stories like Seau, Duerson, and even players at lower levels with CTE (even high school kids) for the league to stand pat.

I'll trade you I'm a Jags fan. :)

Seriously, complain a little more, Donnie. The Colts have gone to the Super Bowl twice out of the last 8 or 9 years.

You're out of your element, Donnie.

I've got no problem with rules changes designed to keep players from having chronic brain injuries for the rest of their lives.

I just think the NFL product is way overhyped, relative to the entertainment value of most of the games (playoffs excepted), and I have trouble with the ways that the league in general treats most of its players as disposable parts.

The whole thing's a joyless exercise in brutality. College football's much more fun. And at least theoretically the players are getting more out of the deal than a couple years' paycheck and a lot of kicks in the head.

I personally can't stand watching the Cowgirls. Now for that call, Dez Bryant this week to follow last weeks debacle of a PI call is so ridiculous I'm wondering If they should just shut the NFL down completely. No, Really. Seriously!

The NFL can be infuriating sometimes, but anyone that does not love professional football is weird and unAmerican.

I guess I'm weird and un-American. If the NFL were to close its doors tomorrow, I wouldn't shed a tear.

So indulge me...how can a person that likes football enough to post here and not like the better version of football that is played on Sundays?

Nah, cant beat the NFL. NBA is a joke and has way to long of a season, can only watch the playoffs. MLB is good but games drag on too damn long. Always find myself watching NFL even if its just the Jags and Titans on a thursday night, its the ultimate team sport

anymore I enjoy watching our guys and following them. I'm not sure there is a better version of CFB. If you asked me around 1996 I would have stated the same as you but as my father said in the early 90's; referee's reviewing their mistakes will ruin this game.
