He could have just said I'm here to talk about the eagles and the Superbowl and left it at that. He made sure to discredit the reports.
And then he starts getting peppered with questions because he didn't deny it and the distractions are there.

Until we see "Andy Ludwig signs three-year extension making him the highest paid assistant in the Pac-12" or some such, there seems no reason to be concerned about the board here.

Dropped this in Tommy's thread, but thought it deserved to be here as well.

Also: Rees will not be coming in and installing his Notre Dame playbook. Alabama’s OCs run the Alabama/Saban offense. Each of those hires above has put their own spin on it, but the Tide have had a top-20 offense for seven straight years. That’s built through continuity, not blowing up the base offense and installing a new one every other year.

it’s been 5 days. I can’t wait to see how you guys are at day 10.
I agree; no reason to panic when we're not even a week into the formal search.

IE collectively: "You know what? We're going to start panicking even harder.

Loy said Sean Lewis may not be a fit schematically so whoever was saying that yesterday may have nailed it.

If Sean Lewis is interested I can't not believe he's not the top candidate. He probably stays 2 years, but those two years I think could be great. The offense is going to be good with Hartman in 23... the bigger thing, I think Buchner would be elite in Lewis' offense in 24.

Please someone post a picture of ND's plane in Boulder!

I like it. He's 6 foot 5, though, so he's easily the tallest dude in the QB room if he gets hired.

That’ll be Buchner’s playbook. This is Hartman’s playbook.

Chris Tyree is jumping for joy right now.

He couldn't get the job done for us in 2012, what makes us think he can do the job for us in 2023 and beyond?

I’m still 100% in the belief KSU would have beaten us also in 2012.

The bowl prep was that bad.

Bama came out (think it was Barrett Jones and a coach) and said they knew exactly what Diaco would be doing every single play after having a month to watch film.

They leaned on that early, but then found out ND did little to none live tackling in the lead up, and just rode Lacy through the middle of the field.

You can argue KSU would have just had the schematic and not physical advantage Bama had both of, but I truly think a loss occurs regardless.

Pair that with the Manti circus, it was doomed regardless of opponent IMO.

Those are valid points. We'll never know. But there's no question that it would've made for a much closer game and a more respectable result than the ass-beating we all suffered through.

What type of Offense does he run?

Also: The more I watch the KSU file, I am digging this Klein guy. Shows he can adapt an offense to the players he has. I don' t know if he is my #1 yet ( I like Ludwig right now) but he is moving up.

Kansas State ran the ball even more frequently than us and were more successful doing so as well. (Though the stats I'm looking at likely are not adjusted for QB sacks.)

I'm warm to Klein. Wish he had another year or two (and perhaps at another school) as an OC and QB coach to get a better feel for him. Loved what he did at KSU in '22 though.

K State's scheme would be the way we win in the future. We are an OLine program. Need to mash but have enough change ups

Indifferent. Wouldn't be first choice, Wouldn't be pissed with him.

Klein and Rees have a ton of overlap. Klein was able to adapt his offenses to his personnel this year better than Rees. It also pays to have a 6’5 235 backup QB over a 5’11 198. Completely different playbooks for Martinez versus Howard. But schematically, good amount of motion, multi RB sets, TEs, power spread. Likes deep shots off of the short game. Kleimann let him mix in some tempo and 4 WRs this year. Could be someone Freeman gravitates to as young and on the rise over someone like Ludwig who also plays ball in a similar arena schematically. Higher risk, reward than Ludwig.
