I saw that earlier... looking forward to it, 'the call' thing gets me, they still needed the two point conversion if they scored... so yeah, they got their chance at the two point conversion and missed it anyway. It's not like Rice would have fumbled when and where he did had we got the kickoff.... anyway we won, I just get tired of hearing about that call.

Sadly, with press releases about a year ago stating a 30 for 30 was in the works about the 1988 National Championship team got whittled down to only being about the Miami game.

I get it that a 30 for 30 focusing on the Catholics vs Convicts game will probably get more viewers, but I'm a bit disappointed that it could've been more about the National Championship year.

A 30 for 30 about the only team to win a natty on the field AND in the classroom in the same year... the only other team to ever COMPETE for one on the field the same year they won the academic natty was the 2012 ND team and we know how that ended........

ESPN would never do Notre Dame a favor like that though..... ;)

The U has already had a couple of these. Would be great to see one just on the '88 team and....maybe the early 90's teams who got robbed

Yeah they already had a two part series on The U. Not sure why there can't one just focused on Notre Dame.

Yeah...

There is a 30 for 30 on Mike and the Mad Dog coming out in February that I am way too excited about. I have listened to them or just Mike in the recent years for probably an average of 5 hours per week.

I think it would be cool for a 30 for 30 that dates back to Rockne, win one for the gipper, the four horse men, etc. All of us are to young to have lived during those times, except for sir dish hands and old man Mike.

Yeah...

Can't wait for that!

Did you see the reunion show?

I've been a fan since around 2002. When did you start?

The problem with a 30 for 30 going back to Rockne and all that is lack of footage.

I have been listening since probably middle school. So 1998.

Did you see reunion show at radio city? Real good show IMO.

Sad that Francesa will be leaving the fan after next year. End of an era. I don't always agree with Francesa and he can be an ass hat at times. But, saying all that he is the best at what he does.

Yea I caught some of it. And agree with your characterization of Mike. I will always love him no matter what though.

I've grown to despise francesa over the last 20 years...the guy name drops more than a principal at a graduation ceremony.

We're soon playing vs the Canes at home vs a 1st year coach. And they're going to kill us.

The nephew of a poster on ISD was the director for this piece. I think it's supposed to premiere on campus.

Yeah, that 1st year coach isn't exactly a rookie here. We're talking about a guy that spent 10 years at Florida State as an OC in one of their more successful periods from '90-2000, and then coached a pretty good program in Georgia for 15 years, winning the East division 5 times during that tenure. Few coaches last half that time at one school. Calling him a 1st year coach is kind of silly, that implies he doesn't know what he's doing or won't be prepared.

This guy is great. Did he at least try a subtle troll for a few posts before pulling off the mask?

Yeah, I thought the same. Went through his post history, pointed out in the Greg Hudson thread he mostly is just "ND sucks" and "BK sucks" in his short time here.

You nailed it. After looking around, he just shoots from the hip and never replies. Pretty standard troll protocol. We should keep him around for fun, and see how many guys who aren't trolls post worse shit tomorrow during the game. O/U is set at 7.5

I'm with you.

Watch ND show up and punk them(considering how bad the defense is) by 3 possessions.
I understand how ND can give folks battered spouse syndrome but...good God people. Richt teams can ball...but ND's offense will keep them in pretty much any game.

I have seem ESPN hype this during the week and I am so excited to see it. Looks really good..

Curious to see if it can help recruiting with some guys on the fence.. Makes ND look "cool"

Why does everybody here think ESPN hates ND so much? Is it just the classic "ESPN hates my team" argument that every single internet commenter goes with or is there an actual reason? From where I sit, ESPN employs or employed more on-air talent with a direct connection to ND than any other school I can think of (Lou Holtz, Hannah Storm, Dick Vitale, Digger Phelps, Mike Golic (Sr. and Jr.), LaPhonso Ellis, even Eamon McAnaney, and there are probably more that I'm missing). With regard to this specific 30 for 30, there will presumably be a decidedly ND tilt given that the director and his wife are both 3rd generation ND alumni. I just don't understand the argument at all.

Wow talk about not calling it. Pick any random game to pick us to lose and odds were in your favor this year.

I'm telling you and everyone else, ND is undefeated when I'm in Florence. Break out your checkbooks and watch ND rise to prominence again...
