A consistent thought I had when listening to the ND podcasts is the staleness in the ad's that each one has.

IB - BD saying "aromatically pleasing" is cringe af
On3 - Mike Singer announcing that augies as new sponsorship for the 10th straight month irks me slightly more each time I hear it.
II - The Mike Brown childrens book spot sounds like some first year communications major's first draft.
Rivals - Eric Hansen talking about socks for 2 min, see "IB" above.
100%. I’m sure they’re the first to admit that they aren’t pitchmen but at least put a little effort in the read.

When Tyler or Eric read the Soxxy ad it’s like they’re reading it for the first time as they stumble over words.

Tired of the Mike Brown Children’s Book & the Ireland Travel ad but I usually forward past them and totally understand they support the pod w/ those ads.

Andy Staples is probably the best at it among the scribes that do Pods.

Are Singer and Hyde just unsponsored drunks??

Neither one is very good. Garrett is knowledgeable, but his voice sounds like the auto attendant for a credit card company. He will never be interesting.

I have! I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who isn’t a ND fan and just wants to support a former player.
I had trouble finding it and also it’s a little on the pricey side to get on a lark. I know indiana whiskey has it on sample and been planning to try it. But probably should pass then

I’m no whiskey expert, but I’ve tasted better at much cheaper prices than the $88 I saw it for.

Lucky for him the product on the field sucks so no one notices his lack of charisma. TBF, I don’t see him as any different than Drew Brees.

I look to the color guy to bring the knowledge. To me that’s the interesting part.

Maybe I'm in the minority, don't care for Garrett. His vote is grating to me. He hasn't reached Flutie level distaste yet. Jac hasn't bothered me, he seems to call it down the middle and seems rather professional. My favorite team in recent years is still Tirico and Dungy. I don't think it'll ever get better than that.

With the shit product on the field, I find it funny people are splitting hairs between Garrett & Brees. I’ve noticed no difference between the two and was expeciting Garrett to be worse than Brees. Then again, I was also expecting ND to be an above average team this year so WTH do I know?

Garrett does the same thing that Flutie did, in that his color analysis is almost entirely focused on ND’s opponent.

If ND is on offense, he’s talking about what Cal’s undersized front 7 needs to do to get a stop against ND’s running game. If ND is on defense, he’s talking about what Cal needs to do to keep the ball moving.

It’s like they know it’s the ND network, so they have to defer to analyzing the week’s unique opponent in order to not appear biased… which creates a total lack of in-depth color commentary focusing on ND at any point.

Brees wasn't my favorite, but his voice didn't bug me. Something about Garrett just...don't like him. I'm annoyed when he talks. He hasn't been quite as pro-opposition as a guy like Flutie I think, but we're only two games in. I think he does say some stupid stuff though. People commented about the 3rd down stuff, absolutely true. "It's 3rd and 3, this is so tough for an offense." No it isn't, dipshit! Your entire offense is pretty much available at 3rd and 3. It's not like 3rd and long and the defense knows you're passing.

Fair enough. I’m just so disgusted w/ the ND product on the field that I couldn’t care less about the analyst. That will change if/when ND gets better. Until then..meh

I was driving all day so I listened to Burmeister and Harris. Loved the OLine insight (especially as we greatly needed it) and Irish homerism from Harris, and while Burmeister’s voice is a classic, he kept making errors on yardline, down and distance, or player names. If memory serves he typically was pretty good in the past?

For lack of better places to put this. Why are our LB's so inconsistent? You have the ability to have 3 coaches to fix them. Golden, Laaurinaitis, and Freeman.

I wish NBC would just lien in and adopt Globo-Gym's slogan:

"Welcome to NBC's coverage of Notre Dame Football; we're better than you, and we know it."

At one point we had the White Goodman team on commentary with Tirico and Dungee, unbeatable. Now we've got the Justin Redman team with Collinsworth (Who's been good) and frickin' Garrett.

Tangentially related, but I recently watched Heavyweights with my kids. Hadn't seen it since it first came out in 1995. Hugely underrated movie.

Tony Perkis was such a good character that Stiller recycled him with very few changes as White Goodman in Dodgeball.
