ND's Talking Heads ... The good, bad & ugly

Just listened to the latest II podcast. An SEC GM told O'Malley that NIL isn't a problem for ND with HS recruits. O'Malley also had an interesting quote: "Here's how it (essentially whiffing w/ '25 WR's) hurts for next year, the 3 WR's you brought in last year, all of them have to hit. All of them."
Re what O’Malley also said about Meadows: What irritates me is that apparently Kelly negatively recruited the dorm situation and social life and that had an impact on the Meadows camp. Like, that’s some bush league stuff to say about a school you worked with for 12 years and sent you own daughter to. Especially when he himself knew that it’s easy for football players to get off campus accommodations easily enough off the record.

Hey hey hey

I feel like that's a little unfair

In my defense--I generally only shit post while at work

Agree it's best to move on from the Brown/WR recruiting subject

We can reconvene on it in December and compare notes. I'm probably just over reacting.
I don't want to give Brown a pass and I don't want to condemn him to abject failure forever.

I want to see what happens this season and how we finish out the class with recruiting. Winning w/a strong defense & fun offense can go a long way to curing what currently ails us. Maybe Brown isn't a longterm answer but maybe this is rock bottom and he ascends rapidly. Time will tell.

I just want fall camp to start so we can get to a (hopefully) fun season.

To be fair, if that’s what really mattered to him he wasn’t going to come to ND anyways. With that being said, Bayou Brian is a bitch

Respectfully, I'm pretty sure the only thing BK gave a $hit about in this situation was landing Meadows. Head coaches are like politicians, they'll say whatever they have to do land the recruit or gain votes. I'm no BK defender, AT ALL, but his job is to land recruits and win football games for LSU now, not do both of those things while also ensuring ND's reputation remains untarnished.

I mean, in the age of NIL most if not all of the players live off campus, including Frosh. If that's truly why Meadows picked LSU over ND, he was just looking for reasons to not pick ND and would have never signed here imo.

We gave you a fair amount of leeway when you first started posting.

You've proven to be a cantankerous human being who isn't content without making his displeasure known multiple times/day across multiple threads and yet, we still tolerate your cancerous spirit.

You've metastasized to other threads and, seemingly, other posters.

I hope there is a cure in the form of an excellent season with a potent offense that forces recruits to reconsider. And then hopefully, we can all celebrate an excellent class and a fun season. Fall camp can't start soon enough.
You should know by now that guys like this are never satisfied. "Yeah, we won a natty 21-17, but it should have been 35-7", or "Yeah, we won a natty, but next years going to suck".

“We didn’t win the natty, so this year was a failure”

I don't know how it is at other programs because I don't follow other programs, but ND seems to find itself in this position every season and its usually the same repeat offenders.

Driskell said on the IB podcast from two days ago that he use to talk a lot of trash when he played WR... Does anyone have film on that. I will pay money.
Don't want to think about his word choices, don't want to think about his word choices, don't want to think about hi...

Wasn’t sure where to put this but apparently the NCAA is going to approve increased scholarships across multiple sports football going from 85-105

This is why I personally give a lot of weight to blue chip ratios. Teams with good/great ratios can better afford the evaluation misses when your floor is high.

ND can handle Kollie and Sneed missing (relative to rating), when you have 4 star grey shirts. ND linebacking can actually afford for KVA to miss because the recruiting floor has been so high

The current state of WR recruiting... a disaster, is on Freeman.

The arms race and cost of doing business for the Tier 1 schools is going to be out of control.
Actually with all the TV money growth there IS revenue to handle the costs at the top. But the bottom half of BCS and the rest of the food chain are screwed. 20 more scholarships for every team in the top tier is going to starve the rest. The non revenue sports at the top are going to become even more dominant than they are now and entire non revenue programs will bite the dust.

He showed his true colors when he left Cincy, Some of things he did here and the way he left and these reported comments only prove he is garbage. I hope he never wins a championship, and hope he gets caught with one of his assistants and his wife takes him for every dollar.

And fuck Meadows too. I hope they don’t spend another second in him.

The staff will be spending many more seconds on Meadows. Just an FYI.

Listening to the ISD Power Hour and Mike and Jamie didn’t hold back

-ND staff didn’t like Talyn Taylor as much as other WR’s
ND messed that one up with Taylor.

I still think ND has a chance to flip Meadows and Hall

I will be shocked if Brown is here after this season.

Who else was ND considering this round outside of brown
It's hard to say. There was hope for Jamarcus Shephard from Washington who'd have been great but expensive and also he was going to the CFP at the time. He's now a co-OC with DeBoer at Bama. We probably should've hired him instead of Stuckey two years ago.

Next best name on this list might be the guy from Arkansas, Guiton, who it appears replaced Brown at Wisconsin, or Kevin Cummings, who went with Fisch to Washington. Not sure if either was ever a real candidate for us though.

Honestly, they shouldn't. He had every opportunity to commit to ND and was always looking for a reason not to.
