Rivals still has Trumbetti as a 3-star. With his measurables, tape and showing at the skills challenge, that just makes no sense.

He could still get moved up. They release the 4 stars just outside the 250 tomorrow. Weishar will be one, Yeargin, Trumbetti and maybe Byrne should join them.

I understand rankings better now. Ours is the only four linemen class in the top 5. And the only thing CBS got wrong about the class is that they rated JWilliams as the sleeper. This is a whole class of sleepers!

Moved down to #10 on rivals. #10 on 247. #6 on scout, but not sure if that is current.

Solid class Irish. Looks like you addressed the needs you had. Now get to training them up. Congrats on a successful signing day.

Top 10? I'll take it. 2013 just wasn't our year.

Oh, and congrats on yet another #1 ranked class:

Learned something about recruiting this year. Unless you have the window dressing and every position the rating services deem important, (god forbid a team like Stanford looks for good fullbacks), you loose rating. So that is why teams like Stanford, Boise State, and MSU can finish without top classes and be bitches on wheels when it comes to playing the game. We got the right class this year. The long term development of this class bodes as well as anyone's. In the top ten is candy.

Only 6 schools have 16 4*+ players, and ND is one of those. Missed on some targets today but this class is pretty damn good.

And if you want to feel even better, consider that at this time a decade ago, we had only 2 4:s: signees, along with 6 2:s:.

I shudder at the thought of what this board would look like if those Ty years happened now.

I'm sure ACamp, LA and BGIF could tell us. From what I've heard, it was a few opinionated assholes shouting at each other while digital tumbleweeds blew about across an otherwise sparsely populated online community.

I was on the ESPN boards ten years ago... I joke about the amazing Anthony Vernaglia (poor guy) because he was billed as the 'can do it all super man" of that class (Or one of the classes right near it)... think about that... the saving grace of one of those classes (forget the year, but it was roughly ten years ago) was Anthony Vernaglia.

It warms my heart so much to see Michigan on the 2nd page of Scout's class rankings. Only 16 signees.

Anybody have an idea how many schollies UM is using next year?

EDIT: sorry, that wasn't clear. I'm wondering how close they are to the number 85.

Story time! How different were things around here during the Willingham era?

Ha, the ESPN boards were hell... ND constantly got trolled by Vols, tOSu or Michigan fans... like 2/3 threads were troll threads by other fan bases... When Ty was fired the race stuff was brutal.

I joined IE when it was a newish site in 06 I think it was... IE was a great site from the start... it was much more 'family ' back then as most of the regs knew each other fairly well. Most of those guys followed the old owner of IE over to Gold helmet when he sold IE and started GH... most are still there. I go over to keep up but I'm also a creature of habit... IE is great now too, but different... it was closer knit in the beginning… but there was a bit less traffic over all also… less insider stuff.

In terms of how different the tone was... it seemed like much more of a 'realist haven' in those days.... at least to me.

Yep it was the 2004 class. Vernaglia, walker, Crum jr and Terrell Lambert were the studs of the class.
