I don't know what the heck you do at 5 then.

Hope and pray that Bonzie is down with the challenge of being the underdog in every game as the "big."

Eric Hicks dominated many a 7-footer for UC back in the day. He was generously listed at 6'6", probably closer to Bonzie's size. But, UC didn't have another option, and Hicks was an animal that thrived on the challenge of out-rebounding the opposing bigs down low as the underdog, so they made it a serviceable situation for a year*.

*This is obviously not optimal, but the only course I see based on my limited knowledge of ND's bench.

If Brey doesn't get a transfer big, then its gonna have to be Colson, Burns, Geben, and Mooney

If I was a 5th year Big who isn't starting, I would transfer to ND... They are a tournament team and you are almost guaranteed a starting gig

DJ is projected as a possible late lottery pick?? Seriously? I love DJ but didn't see that coming...

Kudos to this team man, no one saw them making this kind of run. It's crazy that any of you are being negative after this season. I'm looking forward to buddy season, I think they'll still be dangerous, and I think Ryan will make that step forward and be a threat.

He has no true flaws other than his size. But he makes up for his size with serious hops. I think he would struggle guarding someone like Westbrook, but who doesn't...

To say this team is a tournament right is jumping the gun. We need to see what the off season has in store.

You're not wrong but the ACC is going to be a lot weaker next year.

NC State loses Barber (although they did sign a lottery pick)

Duke loses Ingram, probably Allen, Plumlee. They signed two lottery picks but who knows how that will turn out.

UNC loses basically everyone.

Virginia loses basically everyone.

Miami loses basically everyone.

Pitt should be better but they have a new coach/system coming in. Syracuse depends a lot on who comes back. Louisville loses a lot but they are always good.

Expecting ND to be a 'tourney caliber' team year in year out now is not unrealistic so long as you allow for the every few years NIT type season in those expectations... I def think to expect a tourney bid next year isn't far fetched.

Our roster is completely devoid of > 6'10'' players. Maybe Gebben is 6'10" but he stinks. We are going to start Farrell or a true freshman at point next year. VJ Beachem could come down to earth again.

I think VJ is a budding star.

He shines when the lights go on. When the pressure is there, he delivers. I think being in a more PG aggressive offense will suit him well.

ND built a palace for the hockey team.

(Btw, the hockey team has not won an NCAA tournament game since moving into the CFIA. Fire Jackson! Fire Van Gorder! Move back to the Joyce Center!)

Basketball teams -both of them- deserve nothing less.

If you build it...

Daniel Giddens is requesting to transfer out of OSU. Wish we could get him to look into the Irish. He is a C at 6'10" and about 230 lbs. Need a couple Bigs like this and we could be prominent figures in March every year.

That would be a huge get. Top 50 player when he was a recruit. If DJ leaves and we don't get thon we will probably go for a transfer for sure

The renovations to the Joyce center are great. The only thing they need is a separate practice facility.

That had already been reported last night. Only news would be if he snagged up an agent which would really make him unable to play again.

The most recent report I read said he will have an agent.

From the bottom of that article that I didn't bother reading because it was 2AM and I had just got home from guys (read: drinking heavily) night:
* Update at 10:16 p.m. According to a source, Jackson will sign with an NBA agent.

I was told that a guy in the South Bend area wants to be his agent. We'll see if that becomes true or not
