What a week in recruiting for the men's basketball team; 2 huge recruiting wins in Indiana.

Jerian Grant, Pat Connaughton, and those group of guys were program changing guys.

Koehler, Haralson & Frost have the potential to be program changing guys.

Coach Shrews has something cooking!

If Ahneman popped while on campus this weekend, that would erase the miss on Gurdak this summer when he chose V Tech. This class needed a big.

With the 4 they have in the class now, the program is locked in on PG Kayden Mingo.

A top 50 player, he was on campus on 8/30, the week before the trio of Haralson, Frost, and Koehler arrived.

His plan has been to take his OVs and has two remaining - Georgia this weekend and Xavier next weekend. Penn St, V tech, and Wake also received visits. Sources were bullish about his visit at the time, and if the 4 man class of commits formed after, you would think the hard press has only increased.

By composite:
#13, #42, #85, #87, #129
This would be the best ND recruiting class since the recruiting websites started in 2002 and likely since the prime Digger days.

I'm not convinced these larger scholarship numbers do anything when you have 1/3rd of all players transferring every year. So little tolerance for the bench by players but now we are going to put two more on there?

That said - Brey saved the university a lot of money maxing out at 8 scholarships most years.

I never understood why Brey was just like "Eh, I'm good with not playing with a full deck because it'd be too much effort to do my job during the offseason."

I found it offensive that a mentor of men would rather burn the scholarship than provide an opportunity to someone. Hell give one years to student managers for all I care.

I get a little too excited to see a high rated 6'11" guy on the board. Looks like a banger - need size in the paint to take it to the next level.

I know football makes all the money, but in the NIL era basketball is where loaded schools like ND should more easily be closing the gap with the traditional powerhouses. Money can go a looooong way when there are like 1/6 as many guys on the roster.
