Wow that would be so ridiculously amazing if we got him.

Not one cb for ND re Stewart.
CBs don’t mean a whole lot due to the fact that there is about zero anyalsts that cover strickly basketball.
Not sure I can say I believe he’ll sign with ND.
If they clearly lead you would think at least one guy would have thrown a CB down tho.
Just as an FYI, Stewart was quoted in an article saying he thought it was hilarious that people were predicting his future when he didn’t know where he was going. So I think everyone needs to relax and just let it play out. We’re for sure in his top group, he’ll be visiting for the Michigan game and hopefully we can make a big splash.

Or you would think there are guys like Tom Loy (he doesn’t)throwing around pointless CBs because they can on the best team possible. Don’t forget CBB isn’t as popular as CFB. Look at this board for instance. There are 10 regular posters during the CBB season and 200 regular posters during the CFB season....
I like to browse ND Hoops Recruit's twitter page every now and then because he's usually pretty good at getting information out on both the men's and women's teams. With that being said, saying that a low to mid 4 star with offers from UCONN, Louisville, and home town Pitt is a back up plan to Isaiah Stewart is a pipe dream IMO. If Notre Dame loses out on Stewart but pulls Mitchell out of their hat, Brey's new assistants need pay raises ASAP.

For basketball recruiting in general, Notre Dame is way behind the 8 ball compared to the 2018 class. The staff probably has an uphill battle for Stewart, I don't think they get Girard, and thats about it. I don't understand how a team that was extremely mediocre last season can be so selective with who they offer. If you looked at who they've offered, you'd think Notre Dame was Villanova or something.
Given last year's haul I think we can afford to aim for the moon here. Not to mention the huge volume of transfers that are on the market these days (average is something over two per team in DI PER YEAR). I am hopeful this is a sign they really like where they stand with a couple of top guys and the new facilities nicely complimenting Brey's value prop.
I agree that last year's class has the potential to be really good; Laszewski was born to play in Brey's offense and Goodwin is a true sharp shooter that Notre Dame hasn't had in a while. But they are still locking size/bodies on the block. Durham should be starting this year, then you have Mooney (more of a 4), Burns, and Doherty (99.9% chance he redshirts). Recruiting bigs has always been an issue for Brey for some reason. They've offered 3 5 star bigs and 2 high 4 star bigs; they really need to expand that board.
My dude, it's still early. (and we do still have shot with out dream guys).
What are you suggesting by, "expanding the board"? Should Brey offer lesser talent, just to get big bodies?
1) There's still plentyyyy of time to offer new guys later (or steal commits).
2) There are always grad transfers in college bball.
ND needs to take that next step for elite talent, especially with bigs. I love that Brey is swinging for the fences for this smaller class. And don't fool yourself by thinking Brey doesn't have a "plan B".

I think that they should offer more than 5 bigs, yes. Especially when its pretty well known that they have a realistic chance for just 1, maybe 2, of them. I'd love to be confident in knowing that Brey knows what he's doing when it comes to getting bigs to commit, but he hasn't really done anything in recent years to make me believe that. I love that Brey has the confidence to swing for the fences when it comes to recruiting, but, no, I don't think he should have the same recruiting philosophy as Duke. I think they should expand their board and offer some bigs that fit into what Notre Dame offers as a university.
Looking at recruits in Indiana, maybe Jakov Kukic is a back up plan? He's 6'10", 220 pounds and plays at La Lumiere (45 minutes west of South Bend). I think their new head coach has some sort of connection to ND.
Brian Snow gave a CB for Tre Mitchell. Between Isaiah Stewart, Tre Mitchell, Joseph Girard, & Chris Ledlum you probably have 4 strong targets for the 2 man class.
couple more cb's coming in for Tre Mitchel
