According to the Illinois version of Irish Envy they seem to think that they have them and have several "sources". The mood of the board is like a roller coaster, they think he is 100% Illini and then 100% Irish, it's funny. They think they deserve him because they like basketball more. I can't believe most of it because they have so many wrong posts. One of the posters says he only follows one Irish player/recruit he follows almost everyone current player/recruit including former ND football and basketball players. Another funny thing is that they think ND sucks in the Big East and will in the ACC. Someone corrected them that we have done fairly well recently and have mostly a winning record. What the **** has Illinois done recently. Also a lot of hate towards ND and I guess that's expected. They said he has not told either coaching staff. One more thing do we honestly only average 8000 people a game. I still think we get him.

Well to be fair they did make it to the NCAA Title game back in the 2004-2005 season, with a great PG Deron Williams.

I really don't know where Jackson will head though, maybe he will pull a Skylar Diggins and stick with the home town team with the hopes of bringing the team to greatness.

Basketball Recruiting - Kendrick Nunn - Player Profiles - ESPN

Nunn just committed to Illinois a week or so ago. The Illini are all in on his teammate Jabari.

I don't see a kid who just spent all weekend on campus and told the coaches he would make his decision in 4 days picking a school that just grabbed a top 100 player at same position and is still after another.

Nunn is a 6'1" SG and with Groce's system he uses more than 1 ball handler on the court at the same time.

I mean really recently like the last few years.

Jake Brown hearing it's 50-50 between ND and Illinois. Illinois has been hitting him with negative Recruiting hard. We'll see tommorow.

Doubt it is 50/50 if he is choosing tomorrow, that just means they don't know. If it were 50/50 i would hope someone close to him would advise postponing.

Yea it means that both programs are confident. The fact that he's deciding right after his ND visit gives me hope.

How do you negative recruit ND for basketball when you're Illinois and the kid lives in Mishawaka?

Illinois hasn't done anything since Deron Williams left. Only made the tournament 2 of the last 5 years. And in those 2 years you're looking at first/second round exits. They are a complete nobody... even with respect to ND who is basically a nobody as well.

Don't click the link and give hits to a guy that steals the kid's thunder like that. Massive get for ND, but poor performance from a guy out to steal some publicity from DJ's day.

This is huge! So happy right now! With Brey running the show and the talent he has brought in the last few years we finally have the depth and skill to make a run in the Tourney! Just wow!

We could all see this coming, or at least I did. Great get for Notre Dame, even better news for Demetrius who is a great young man

I recommend taking a look at the Illinois boards for a good laugh. The level of delusion about their basketball program rivals that of Michigan football.

Huge get for ND though! Basketball is definitely on the upswing here in South Bend! Hopefully this will also have an impact on local interest like getting Skylar did!

Yeah I read it a couple of days ago. A lot of them thought he was 100% committed to Illinois and they had "sources".

Sounds like ESPN broke the story because DJ isn't going to be doing the ESPN U thing anymore. That article by 24/7 said he will hold a local press conference at 6:15 and isn't speaking publicly until then.

This is awesome. We might have more overall talent on this team in the next few years than ever before

Apparently he was already a silent commit and almost committed to them two other times. I also saw one poster say ND was a better school overall and another responded by saying that Illinois had more faculty recognitions and a Illinois degree carries more weight in Asia. Cool story bro.

That will all change when we cut down the trees(Stanford) in China in 2015!

Congratulations to Mr. Jackson and his family, congratulations to Coach Brey. This young man did a great job of working through this decision and Coach Brey obviously did a great job supporting him throughout it. I could not be happier with the direction the basketball program is going. This young man is a serious talent.

Apparently he had told Illini coaches he was going to commit to UofI after visiting ND... Well glad he changed his mind.
