Thanks, Francis is who I was thinking of but said Humphreys. Not sure how I twist those names around. Wasn't aware Thomas was Top 100 coming in. In any respect, it is a pretty short list of Top 100 ND commits in Bball in the last two decades.

Jackson is a beast. Dynamic, athletic point guard. Needs to work on his jumper but it isn't bad. Very good driver. Will decide before the BBall season.

I knew he played well this passed weekend but not that well. Distance will be a major factor.

I don't really agree. I feel like if he wanted to come to ND, he would have committed already, or at the least, narrowed his options, not expanded them. Brey and Co. have been all over this kid for a while now, he's been to campus numerous times to watch games...anything is possible, but everything about his recruitment to this stage points to a kid who is looking for reasons not to come to ND.

Within the past few weeks he told a reporter ND leads and will probably decide before the year starts.

And hasn't he said essentially the same thing throughout the recruiting cycle? If I recall correctly, he was going to pick prior to his junior year's BB season, then that changed to after his season ended. Both times we were "in the lead" and yet he hasn't pulled the trigger.

I have no inside information, I don't pretend to. Maybe it's because I've seen this situation play out with football recruits more than once. I'm just of the opinion that if he wanted to be at ND--as in he was truly sold that ND was the place for him--he would have committed already. There's nothing about ND that he doesn't know at this point, why wait for other offers if ND was where he wants to be?

I think you would be stupid not to listen to the team that just won it all and had the first two draft picks. I say that hating Kentucky and Callipari but its true.

Jake Brown on II still feels that ND leads for Jackson by a very large margin. He noted that interest between him and MSU has cooled and that the recent offers from Memphis, Louisville, and Kansas haven't changed his feeling. Kentucky showed interest but Caliparri didn't go to his games recently unlike Brey who it seems goes to all of his games. Brey is going Balls to the Wall to Get Jackson for good reason.

It would be a spectacular get fo sho! Brey has really been stepping his game up in recruiting and I gotta tell you if he keeps it up and consistently pulls kids in like that, we will be able to be excited for basketball season too! Glad he got the long term deal!

Update per II on Steve Vasturia. He is up to 6'5" 190 lb and has impressed in his AAU summer league. Spent a lot of time at PG so if we don't get DJ than he could play there. His coach called him a "better Matt Carroll".

Nice! the kid is highly underrated from what I've heard. I still think he needs to play SG at ND, Demetrius would be the icing on the cake for this class.

Brey is really doing an awesome job recruiting this year. Now if only he could top it off with a commitment from Jackson, who in the newest Scout rankings checks in at no. 23 overall and picked up his fifth star. Only going to get more difficult now with more powerhouses likely taking notice.

Also saw this interview where he says he could see himself being the men's basketball program's version of Skylar. Definitely promising!

Marian's Jackson still feeling out process, but wouldn't mind being "Skylar" of ND men's hoops

I for one am very impressed with the job coach is doing building and developing the program, but it is also amazing the impact on a school a kid like Manti T'eo, or in this case Skylar Diggins can have on a school. These kids have such a wide sphere of influence, I love it.

Skylar rocks. FB and BB recruits have been fawning over her for the last two years. This kid has an impressive link with her though.

"Jackson used to live across the street from the MLK basketball center that Skylar's Dad Mo Scott runs.

"I would always go over there and play with her when I was really young," Jackson said."

He respects and aspires to impact the community as much as the program and respects that of Skylar. Manti carries the same gravitas. Good to see these young kids looking to do more than just play ball.

New ESPN 100 rankings are out. Beachem is #92 and Vasturia is #84. I think VJ should be a little higher but Vasturia is about right. As for our 2 remaining Biggest prospects; Kyle Washington is #66 and Demetrius Jackson got a huge bump to #18 and is now a 5 star. This recruiting class could be insane. I expect us to get DJ. Washington released a top 11 which we made. I think we are probably in his top 3 or 5 right now.

The ESPN recruiting guy (name escapes me at the moment) said he thinks VJ is too afraid of contact and settles too much for the jumper. Thinks he needs to be more aggresive at getting in the lane. Said this on the radio here a few weeks back during the Adidas Invitational.

I too am more and more confident about Jackson as the days go by.

Yea I see that a little watching VJ. He's big (6'7" or 6'8") but really needs to add weight.

Best recruit ND has gotten since 5 star Torin Francis if true. Kid is truly a beast.

Not recruiting, but Carleton Scott signed with the Brooklyn Nets today. Good for him, wish him luck.
