[NBA] vBook: Where does LeBron James sign this summer?

If he is leaving Cleveland, is the expectation he does a sign and trade, in order to not leave them high and dry? I believe he did this last time. I also believe this would allow him to get that 5 year, $207 deal (although I could be wrong on this part).

Or would he straight up walk away, with Cleveland left with nothing to show for it?

He did not sign and trade (see the link). He declined when he went to Miami as he is doing now. Yes, 207, but would bet money against him locking in for 5 years in Cleveland unless they improve the supporting cast big time.

LeBron James declining his 2018-19 player option doesn't necessarily mean he's leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers. Because of the difficulty of completing a sign-and-trade deal, James opting out actually limits his options for leaving Cleveland to teams with cap space to sign him outright, leaving LeBron's likely outcomes as joining either the L.A. Lakers or Philadelphia 76ers or returning to the Cavaliers.

Gonna be the Lakers. I don't see him staying in the East.

It's done...he'll still be my favorite player. Cavs are going to fade back into obscurity.

Fuck him. Hope the Cavs can unload some of his bum ass friends he forced them to sign like JR and Tristan and start young. Hope they fire all his buddies and family members the team employs too. At least he could have done a sign and trade to help the Cavs out a bit. There has to be other pieces that will come together just like they did in Miami and Cle. This has been talked about for 4 years according to Cleveland radio. No way it’s going to be just him on that shit ass team.

I doubt he does this unless he knows the Lakers have other pieces already committed.

My guess is Boogie gets PGs money this week, and Kawhi comes NEXT year as an unrestricted free agent.

Boogie provides enough to keep them at fringe contender status, and Kawhi makes them legit contenders next year, coupled with Kuzma and Ingram having another year under their belt. Core intact, 3 superstar additions. Not bad Magic, not bad.

*PS, screw the Lakers. Was hoping they whiffed on everyone, and spent the next decade acting smugly superior to other fans for things that happened decades ago, just like us ND fans.

Magic has nothing to do with this. He is simply a PR mouthpiece. Pelinka is running the show..

Ok.

O/U on puff pieces this week congratulating Magic for resurrecting the Lakers: 8.5

O/U on puff pieces this week congratulating Pelinka for running the show: 0.5

It aint fair, but its reality. Game respects game, and Lebron and Magic are GOATS.

I would have said this about Magic (pre-Dodger ownership affiliation). I was just talking to a friend last week about this; I think Magic absorbed/learned quite a bit from being a part of the dodger ownership group. Pelinka obviously can manage the economic side of things, but I really believe Magic was instrumental in pulling it together. (it also helps that LeBron wanted to come to LA too)

Lakers championship odds are now 7-2 after picking up Lebron. Same as Celtics.

As a Lakers fan, I hate this move. What did they get from this move, 5th best in the West?

Here is a (not so) fun fact:

With Wade and Howard probably going to Western Conference teams (or Wade retiring), the Eastern Conference has one current player who has made an All-NBA First Team: JOAKIM NOAH. Lolololol

So crazy. East is going to have such a different vibe. West is going to be a brawl

If I was a second tier team in a small market that never makes the Finals like Milwaukee or Indy, Id pull out all the stops for this coming season and make a push. Get the fan base excited. Both had decent teams last year, and still finished at the bottom for attendance.

What would you have rather they spent their salary room on? Demarcus Cousins?

Comments like this really help confirm the spoiled Lakers fan stereotype. The Lakers get the best player on the planet, and a top 3 all-timer, for the remainder of his prime, get to pay him the same as other teams do for lesser talent, lose nothing in exchange for getting him, and have the 3rd (or 2nd depending on who you ask) best player on the planet openly interested in joining him on the Lakers as soon as he's allowed to. Lakers fan: "What'd we get from this?"

I think the random chair throw at the 50 second mark is my favorite part.

Best part is Thon attempting a drop kick.

I wish he had connected. The guy he was attempting that on (No. 2) was the worst person in the whole scrap. Watch him from the beginning, he's hitting guys in the back of the head and then running away.

Lakers won't make the playoffs this year with the team as it stands today.

Just read an advance stat article that predicts lakers to be around 52 wins which is 3 or 4 see in West. Of love to take a very with you the lakers make the playoffs

NBA is going to have to get rid of the soft cap and make it a hard cap or something because the administration is turning into a joke at this rate.

Whats funny though is people are pissed, saying he doesnt want to compete, is chasing rings, etc.

WTF would signing with the Lakers, and two of the top 5 players (if Kawhi goes) be?
