I hope so.
POS reply.

Assuming it’s an Achilles, might slam Celts window shut. Tatum would be out all of next year, and they already needed to trade one if not both of Holiday or Porzingis this summer to help get under second apron or else they would owe $500M for being over the cap. Then who knows what type of shape Tatum comes back in in 2027.

If you say cunty things, don't be shocked when we call you out for it.

Tatum happens to be my nephews favorite player, grew up in StL, they've gotten to interact with him a couple times during warm-ups, including him taking the time to autograph his jersey. Everyone I know from the St Louis area says Tatum is such a good guy. Truly, one of the exceptions.

You wishing a devastating, possibly career-ending injury on him is a cunty thing to do. But I'm sure you have good reasons.

The draft lottery was rigged

1000%

Adam Silver needed a new, young star to take over the team in their biggest market. He called the worst GM in American sports to make the worst trade of the 21st century. Silver guaranteed him the #1 pick in return.

This league stinks.

Someone needs to monitor Nico’s bank account too. He’ll be completely untouchable after this. I bet he got a nice little pay day out of it too.

Knicks up 3-1 and Tatum getting a potentially devastating injury, worst possible news.

Knicks winning with that brand of basketball is just so bad for the sport, IMO. I'm not saying that other superstars don't get quick, generous whistles, but the way the Knicks and Brunson go about it, in particular, is despicable.

It's the same soft-ass game Lebron has played for years and now it's taking over the sport.

Don't agree at all. I am not some die hard NBA fan but have really enjoyed watching the Knicks this playoff and this sounds like some Pistons fan sour grapes haha. They play hard nose defense and are firmly middle of the road in free throws attempted per game. Mikal Bridges in game 1's overtime was a defensive master class.

This is all moot because of Tatum's injury, which ends any chance of the Celtics winning the title, but this is what made the blown leads in Games 1 and 2 so frustrating.

Last night was the Knicks' best game of the series; you knew it was coming. And if you've built in a 3-0 cushion, fine, let them get their win. Now? You're looking down the barrel of a series loss because you fumbled the bag at the start of the series, and now your best player is hurt..

Alas, none of it matters, because the Celtics weren't winning anything without Tatum. Still frustrating, though.

here i thought they were just trying to move the franchise to vegas
Hard to keep up with the endless conspiracy theories that infect every aspect of our country. That being said, David Stern rigged the Ewing lottery.

You don't agree that Brunson is a foul-baiting softie?

He’s doing what literally every team’s leading scorer does. No different than Cade Cunningham, Donovan Mitchell, SGA, etc.
Lmao, comparing Cade to Brunson's flopping antics is laughable

You think foul-baiting and flopping is fun to watch and good for the sport? Or just because it's the Knicks?

It's become premier league soccer. bunch of nancy boys falling to the floor and crying about whistles. It's pathetic

My Wolves are looking good. Granted the Curry loss changed the flow of the series, Ant getting back in form portends well for the test of this one and hopefully next series

Those saying the league “stinks” just don’t watch basketball. In fact, I’d go so far as to say you’re full of shit. And no, I am not an Adam Silver fan. Not a Lebron fan. And I suspect some shit is definitely rigged. But some of you have nothing to stand on. There’s been some excellent basketball this playoffs.
Part of it depends on the style of bball you like to watch or have an affinity for? The game has turned in a primarily iso-driven, perimiter, 3-point shooting league. And, the foul-baiting, flopping, thinking every contact is a foul is mind numbing.

That's personally not my preference. I love an inside/outside game, screen and rolls, a ton of ball movement all setup to create open, unselfish shots. The Spurs in the glory days are the last team I can think of that played that style of game.

People can criticize something and still be a fan. This current era of the NBA is nowhere near as entertaining as the 80s (from what I've read/been told), 90s, and 00s.

Bingo. Those teams were so damn entertaining to watch.

I always say, the 2014 Spurs were an absolute joy to watch. Ran that Heat team into the ground to the point that LeBron bounced.

I also miss when the NBA was just 48 minutes of the highest paid player calling for an iso and jacking up a contested mid range jumper. Such a beautiful game.

The constant love on this thread for a period of basketball that was less skilled and less complex is so dumb.
I agree that the style of ball in the 90’s and 00’s wasn’t as aesthetically pleasing. The NBA, like most pro leagues, is a copycat league. Jordan ruled the day with that type of game so others followed. Obviously the rules at the time also were also a factor.

I don’t necessarily think guys were less skilled back then, the focus was different. Guys shoot better today, no doubt, but the low post game is gone.

Also, sports are entertainment. More skill does not equal more entertainment. If that was the case the NFL would be way more fun than college football and that’s just not the case.

I mean, to each their own. I think it's "so dumb" that people think a glorified three-point contest, limited defense, no physicality, and diving/flopping is a better product than physical basketball.

It's like people who hate defense in football and think "oooo, 70-63, points are shiny." Teams scoring 100+ used to actually mean something in the league. Having mid-range and post-game is way more complex than the era we are watching today where everyone just isos and jacks threes.
