Crowder will have to go. He is gonna be a media headache when Hayward gets all the attention and PT.

They also need a strong big with Amir Johnson and Kelly Olynyk gone. Horford is about as tough as a wet paper bag.

Nick Young just signed a 1-year with the Warriors for 5.2 Million. This gives them a knuckleheaded shooter, ala poor man's JR Smith.

I don't think this makes them better? I would have signed another big with that 5 million.

Maybe Ainge is looking ahead, knowing that not all of these guys will stay forever. He may also be working on something still.

I chuckled when George was sent to OKC. I have a feeling Pritchard did this on purpose given George announced publicly and virtually eliminated any real trade value he would have had. With Westbrook, he may have to beg to see the ball.

Seems like pretty common knowledge at this point, that Pritchard had a lot of ulterior motives behind the deal, that didn't involve getting the best deal for his team. Which is laughable, and if I was the owner of the team, he'd be fired immediately. Apparently, Portland offered them the best deal but he wouldn't trade with them because he still holds a grudge. And other Eastern conference teams offered better deals, Boston being one, but he didn't want George going to an in-conference opponent. As if the Pacers are going to be competitive enough to matter, lol.

He just became President, so Simon won't fire him that fast. Besides, with that trade he'll be able to stay under the salary cap which Simon will love. Simon's rarely opened his pocket book.

Celtics traded Avery Bradley to Pistons for Marcus Morris. Not a bad move for them.

-AB was in last year of contract, and is going to get overpaid by somebody after this season

-Marcus Smart is no slouch at defense himself, and although he won't completely fill AB's shoes, he will do fine

-MM is a serviceable banger that they desperately need after losing Amir Johnson and Kelly Olynyk

-Money is free now to sign Hayward to the max they promised

I wasn't saying they he would get fired, just that if I was GM he'd certainly be fired. It was a terrible trade.

Anyone else wonder if Brad Stevens is going to find a way to outsmart the NBA? He outsmarted the NCAA, found a statistically sound way to play the game and recruit at Butler. It's almost the equivalent of UC San Diego losing the NCAAF championship at the last second on a failed Hail Mary.

And then playing in a subsequent second NCAAF championship and losing by 10.

Butler was nothing before Stevens and he built it up into a winner. Where is the next Brad Stevens in NCAAF?

The next Brad Stevens in CFB is in Minnesota

TBH, I wasn't sure if Stevens had the right temperament for an NBA gig, but he is clearly killing it.

Kyrie wants to be traded

According to unnamed sources! Let's not get hasty here.

In reality, it probably makes sense. Kyrie wanted to be the guy, and when James came back that changed. Things eventually became stable, but there's definitely a lot of questions in the Cavs organization right now. They've got a giant fucking luxury tax on that roster, yet with GSW having Durant now they still can't compete. They're definitely overpaying a few players on the Cavs. If Kyrie leaves that would leave a pretty big hole where they're already weak at.

Chances this is LeBron's final revenge on Gilbert? "Hey Kyrie, you need to demand a trade because I'm about to leave and the Cavs are going to be garbage. "

Why do it now then? We'll actually be getting good stuff back for Ky. If LBJ wanted to fuck Gilbert he'd have Kyrie do this next offseason.

Serious talks going on right now between Boston and Cleveland:

Boston gets: Kyrie

Cleveland gets: IT, Crowder, picks

Kyrie will be an upgrade from IT, but Boston won't realize how much they miss Crowder until he's gone, especially with Bradley already out the door.

Just saw this on twitter, insane. I am not 100% sold on Kyrie but I do think he is better.

Yep. Plus the Cavs need someone like him desperately.

Cleveland did about as good as they could have. They are going to be in the midst of a massive rebuild after this season, and the Nets pick will surely be top 5.

The part that would scare me is IT has a year left and will want max money. Do you really want to rebuild with him as the centerpiece?

The Nets unprotected for a 2 year rental of Kyrie concerns me.
Now if Danny talked to Kyrie and he's willing to re up and the Nets finish as the 8th seed I'll be a lot happier.

Yeah, lots of variables. Will Isiah come back 100%, is he a max guy, will Kyrie resign, where will the Nets pick end up? Overall, think it may work out well for both teams.

Agree. Cavs get a few decent rebuilding pieces, and Celtics get a guy that can help them compete now.

IMO, if Boston continued to sit on their picks, they would just be spinning their wheels for the next decade. Might as well slowly bleed them out.

Reports are coming out that the C's were concerned with IT's hip not being 100% and that Kyrie may re-sign and he's waived his trade kicker.

But when was the last time a top 15 player was traded and people actually argued who won.

I'm a Celtics fan and am happy with the trade. My initial reaction is that the Cavs may have done well, all things considered. Still capable of competing this year and possibly still being good after LeBron leaves.

Boston's defense is going to be a major problem. They weren't even close to hot shit last year, and lost their two best defenders from that squad.

The firepower gained on offense hopefully offsets the massive loss on the other end, because I still don't see them getting past Cleveland.

I think this is a huge upgrade for Boston. Cleveland gets some pieces but I think this hurts their chances of getting to the finals unless Lebron can take over.

Kyrie completely changes that offense. I liked IT but he's more of a lone wolf. I think Kyrie is more well-rounded. I'm not a Celtics fan but I am a Brad Stevens fan.

Excited to see the new NBA.
