Yeah not seeing anything either. I guess an outside chance he'll be a 5th year senior that year. So more than likely he won't play against ND in 2020. Surprised it won't be until then before they play again. Thought it was a 3 year cycle.

The "New Normal" in Recruiting

The "New Normal" in Recruiting

Good article on Harbaugh's hiring Wayne Lyons' mom last year, mentioning other family/coaching hires in CF.

How Jim Harbaugh hired Michigan's Team Mom; Punt, Pass & Pork - College Football - SI.com

Nice article from our friends at Eleven Warriors talking about the hiring of coaches and family by Maryland, Alabama, and Michigan with impacts of Ohio State's recruiting with Alford and Combs hires. (towards the bottom)

USC, when they aren't publicly embarrassing themselves has the easiest recruiting trail. After that it's Alabama and probably Meyer at OSU. How those three aren't the top three mystifies me.

This has potential to hurt us some. But once this becomes knowledge to every play down south it is going to make the sec a recruiting nightmare.

Watched the 30 for 30 on USC last night. Cheaty Pete used the Hollywood angle all the time. He had celebrities around the team all the time, sold the Hollywood connection, chicks, etc.

“If that’s the reason you decide to go to a school, the money, and not the education, not the playing time, then there is a problem. Then you get there and its’ not right for you and you say ‘I should have gone somewhere else’.

“It’s going to happen.”\

Wake up commish. It's already a problem.

Great move for recruiting / high school prospects in general, but should also really benefit ND moving forward.

Yea this helps us more than most considering we do a lot of national recruiting. Thanks for posting.

I assume you mean the mother getting to come along when there are two parents involved?

This one always made a ton of sense to me. Not even sure what the counter argument would be.

Random question since paying for things was brought up. When players get injured, who pays for that? Does the school swallow all costs, or do they handle the claims and the NCAA reimburses them at the end of the year or something for it?

Hmm, an opportunity for SEC schools and Miami to include a seven-day layover in the Bahamas on the way home.....

Now I realize this means next to nothing, but I did find this interesting for 2 reasons:

1) While compiling the listing out of curiosity I found it fascinating how divergent individual team rankings were amongst the services. I know we see it all the time in individual player rankings, but the whole "top to bottom" divergence was a point of interest.

2) The obvious impetus for this was looking at conference bias. This kind of evolved into the subcategories of collective bias, versus individual service bias (i.e. they all love the SEC, but which specific one gives XYZ some love, etc.)

With all that being said, I bet that most of you can pick almost every, if not every team in all 3 services rankings (not by slot, but if there are 4 SEC teams, you could nail them down).

Those are 247 composite team rankings I think, not their own team rankings.

Interesting breaking story out of California by the LA Times high school reporter, Eric Sondheimer. Nothing out yet about what sport or players but there are 10 DI players on the football team alone in the class of '16.

Something to keep an eye on as it develops.
