Tennessee Player's Only Meeting; Multiple Players Quit

According to rumors, multiple UT players have turned on Butch Jones after the last few weeks. Nothing has been 100% proven, but there is definitely plenty of smoke.

It certainly feels like there has been something brewing at UT for quite some time now. Its amazing it happens during a 5-3 season.

While that last part might be true, I think its a chicken/egg or cart/horse conversation. Butch is bringing these kids in. He's throwing Orange Carpet parties for recruits and getting attractive girls to sign up as hostesses for players on OV's. What type of behavior do you think you are going to attract, if that's what the pitch is. You are going to get players that care about themselves and whats in their best interest. Same goes for Ole Miss.

i was reading the vol site and i guess Butch is trying his hardest to be a "players coach" and during the offseason the stars of the team weren't showing up to practices, lifting etc and he allowed this and it was kind of hinted at the injury bug also hitting them because of lack of conditioning

Phil was definitely a weasel. He got fired because his best years were far behind him and he rarely beat any of UT's top opponents or the better teams in the SEC during his final few seasons. He was on a major downward spiral as a coach and no longer getting the job done.

Tennessee completely blew it after Lane Kiffin left them after one year. All they had to do was give the job to David Cutcliffe who would have returned there from Duke. But the idiot AD at the time told Cutcliffe he would have to interview for the job with other candidates. Cutcliffe said no thank you and stayed at Duke. A coach who had spent 15-20 years at UT and had the backing of Peyton Manning and they thought they could do so much better. Derek Dooley and now Butch Jones. Cut would have had them back on track quickly and he had the respect of UT fans.
