Anyone have a movie most people just love that you can’t stand??? I don’t like Tim Burton generally but edward scissor hands is stupid even by his standards,… the love and fasciation that movie gets befuddles me. also, all my college buds love Death to Smoochie,… jeebus I hate that film
Yer fond of me lobster ain’t ye??This was the lighthouse to me.... REALLY did not care for it.

I agree on Scarface totally but you are a terrible person for the Shining and I hate you.....I'll take the heat on some real classic movie hot takes:
The Shining is mediocre as a thiller, isn't scary enough to be a horror, and is one of Kubrick's weakest film. I think people want it to be a great movie due to some iconic shots more than it is one.
North by Northwest starts off funny/interesting but I'm bored halfway through everytime. The master of suspense kills his own movie.
Saying "I enjoy gangster movies like The Godfather and Scarface" is like saying "I enjoy food like filet mignon and dogshit." That C- movie shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as The Godfather movies or Goodfellas. It's the taco bell of gangster flicks. Good enough when it's late and your drunk, but not actually good.
If not for a fun last 30 minutes, The Temple of Doom would be worse than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It's terrible for the first 1:30.
Bladerunner 2049 is better than the original. It's not even close.

What got under your skin in that movie? Was it the bear sucking off the butler? Too many teeth right?
I think you might be right, but it’s close IMO. Both are masterpieces. I think the OG might be the pinnacle of practical effects. The atmosphere of that movie is a 10/10.Bladerunner 2049 is better than the original. It's not even close.

I just recently saw the first Bladerunner and,... wasn't my kind of movie I guess,... my desire to see another is just about zero.
Yes???Did Ford do voiceover during it?
Yes???
Lol the movie you saw is famously bad. The studio notoriously butchered Bladerunner before it came out because they were afraid audiences wouldn't get it. They added a bunch of voiceover work to explain the plot, changed the editing, changed the ending, etc.
If you thought "holy crap Ford's voiceover sucks!" that's because he was so against doing it that he purposely did it badly hoping they wouldn't use it. They did anyway.
What is the 'good' version of the original?
You've been on this website repping the SEC for nearly 10(!) years...Top Gun. The most corny, clichéd, predictable, mindless cinematic drivel ever filmed. It's like an SNL spoof of an action/adventure movie. It makes Scooby Doo look cerebral. It's like Flying Leathernecks, but for retarded kids. I'd rather watch Pauley Shore teach a chimp to square dance than watch Top Gun. At the end after Maverick saves the world and he and Iceman are suddenly like, "Wow Iceman, you're really cool after all!" and, "No Maverick, you're the coolest! Let's be bros!" I really want to see Iceman throat punch that fuckin' Tom Cruise, pants him, and pass him around to all the lonely sailors on the carrier. I hate that corny ass movie that much. Cool planes though.
we just watched what Netflix ( or whatever it was on) gave us 🤷♂️Fun note for ACamp, the changed ending for the theatrical version of Bladerunner where they just drive off into the lush countryside (so bad) uses unused landscape footage from *drumroll* ...
The Shining!
It's even worse than Lucas because Scott didn't write the source material. Basically everyone involved, including the author of the short story Blade Runner was adapted from, told Ridley Scott that his idea was stupid. Most consider the best to be the "Final Cut" but even that has issues for reasons that are spoilery if you've not seen it. Suffice to say, after making the movie Scott pulled a George Lucas and changed his mind on some things and got really obsessed with putting in a dumb twist that really doesnt make sense. So basically seeing OG Bladerunner is always a compromised experience. But it is still a WAY better movie than the one ACamp watched.
The amount of people who watch that version who are unaware of it's reputation and say "I guess it was Ok?" afterward because there's a social pressure to not trash the OG Bladerunner is vast lol.
Are you sure it was Netflix? I just checked and the only version on Netflix is the final cut.we just watched what Netflix ( or whatever it was on) gave us 🤷♂️
Yeah. I think expected a movie like 300. Kinda feel like i barely got 100.This was the lighthouse to me.... REALLY did not care for it.
At the very least a temp ban worthy effort on his part….You've been on this website repping the SEC for nearly 10(!) years...
And a terrible Top Gun take is what finally got you banned. I hope shitting on an American masterpiece was worth it.
I’m not,… it was online about DecemberAre you sure it was Netflix? I just checked and the only version on Netflix is the final cut.
I liked Northman, LOVED VVitch and hated the lighthouse with the power of a thousand lighthouses…Yeah. I think expected a movie like 300. Kinda feel like i barely got 100.
