From Spiderman to the Titanic and the Italian, Russian mob. She had some balls.

Knives Out, lives up to its reputation as a good whodunnit.

I was a bit let down by it. I was not a fan of knowing 90% of what happened about 20% of the way through the movie. The twist at the end was okay, but fairly predictable. I prefer mysteries where you don't really even know who killed the victim or maybe even how the victim died until the end.

That's fair, but it definitely lived up to its billing as a "good but different kind of whodunnit". I'm just glad that the plot wasn't spoiled for me, as somebody described it as "Murder on the Orient Express" and I was gonna be pissed if they had ruined the reveal.

Also, do you think Daniel Craig's accent was intentionally bad? I'm leaning towards yes as a nod to basically every actor's Poirot having an outrageously bad accent.

He is getting a lot of praise for his acting in it but the accent distracted me too much. I'm not sure why they can't just cast an actor with a natural accent for that type of role.

I really do think he was supposed to be "Poirot". His accent in Logan Lucky was far less distracting.

I watched L.A. Confidential this afternoon. Awesome crime drama movie set in early 50's Hollywood with several twists and turns along the way. One of the best movies I've watched in years.

Very good movie with a very good cast.

Watched "The Kitchen". The mobster husbands of three 1978 Hell's Kitchen housewives are sent to prison by the FBI. Left with little but a sharp ax to grind, the ladies take the Irish mafia's matters into their own hands—proving unexpectedly adept at everything from running the rackets to taking out the competition…literally.

Okay if you're caught up on your must see list.

Saw A Hidden Life yesterday. Such a great movie. What surprised me the most is how real the relationship between Franz and his wife, Franziska, felt on screen. Also was very intriguing to see a the switch in performance (and character) for August Diehl, who played the Nazi Major in the bar room scene of Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds

I would love to go see this in the theater but I'd turn into a sobbing idiot. Will hook Kodi back up when the house is empty.

As a friend told me, you'll start tearing up within 45 minutes, collect yourself, then realize that this is gonna happen a few more times before the movie ends.

I watched Ted Bundy And The Green River Killer (2019) tonight. It was so bad that viewers are now officially counted as Bundy's & Ridgeway's victims. Absolutely one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Horrible script, ridiculous technical goofs throughout, and the acting was 3 levels below a typical orgasm scene in a low budget Pornhub video. One review on Rotten Tomatoes said, "I've seen better acting in an ISIS beheading video."

There are not words to describe how truly bad this movie is on every level. Whoever made this film should never be allowed to film anything other than waste treatment facility training films.

On break the lady drug me to a couple flicks. Not necessarily my cup of tea, but who can say "no" to the popcorn?

Richard Jewel - was good, I'd give 4 out of 5 stars. Think I've posted on this previously.

Bombshell - better than I expected going in. Certainly #metoo for folks who are into that. I tried to looked past that and found it interesting. Not action packed, but a true story typically can grab my attention. 4.5 in the 5 scale, and I grade favorably because this isn't my type of film...yet still had me engaged.

I agree. It does play out pretty low budget-wise, and the acting is sub-par.
I've never been a Zac Effron fan, he usually plays the cute guy in romanticized flics. Zac nailed this role.
If you haven't watched 'Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil'... Do so...

It's an excellent movie and It's on Netflix. Very underrated in my opinion.
Bundy Is categorically the most sociopathic human being I've ever read or watched movies about.

Isn't it the best... I usually get through the first 5 min's eating It, then the next 30 min's eating the unpopped kernels. The rest of the movie Is spent picking the hulls outta my teeth.... getting butter all over my chair or clothes, depending on the theatre...

I'm off work today and just finished it. You're right, it is quite good and well worth the watch. Efron did an outstanding job and nailed it, as you said. I also thought Malkovich was great as the judge.

Wanna catch 1917 this weekend. Pretty rare these days a film looks that good to me.

Watched it yesterday... it's a WWI, generic version of Saving Private Ryan. Still entertaining and a good watch, but would never put it in my top tier of war movies. The camerawork of the film is far more impressive than the story IMO

Haven't seen 1917, but the trailers give me the same impression of notredomer23. Gonna try to see it this weekend though

Watched 1917.

Cinematography /sound mixing = masterpiece
Story = bad

I am not saying the, actual story, is bad. It's "inspiring" / "emotional" / etc... But when a crew puts this much effort into creating perhaps the best / most realistic war "environment" in histrory and spits out a story line like this... Yeah, I'm deducting points for laziness and rehashing cliche stories (ala Saving Private Ryan / Black Hawk Down /etc)

6.5/10 overall

Yeah this is pretty much my review. I donr the think the story is TOO similar to Saving Private Ryan etc as to be an unnecessary story, but the plot pretty much consists of what you're told in the trailer.

Furthermore, the super long takes (I believe the movie is just 2 shots) is say too distracting and detracts from the movie. Seriously it's great in the trenches and crossing no man's land, but other than that is distracting. Not Best Picture worthy, but imo neither is Little Women or Joker.

Okay. So long as it doesn't have a Ben Affleck romance in it.
