Did anyone know "The Hunt for Red October" was based on a real incident. I just watched a documentary about it. It's a series on Netflix called something like "The Real Story." In 1975, a political officer aboard a Soviet warship staged a mutiny. As much as I like "Red October" I think the real story is even more compelling.

Watched The Dual with Woody Harrelson. Somewhat disappointing.

I finally saw "Sicario." It was really good. I liked the way it was shot and how it didn't feel the need to force feed you information. You had to pay attention and put things together. I will echo the main complaint; Emily Blunt's character. I think it was a combination of how the part was written and how I read Blunt chose to play it. But she just came off too weak and naïve, especially as someone who was supposed to be a hardened veteran of dangerous operations against drug cartels. We go from seeing her calmly take down a bad guy shooting at her to falling all to pieces in every following scenario. It just didn't add up. I think Blunt and the filmmakers confused being out of her depth to being a nervous nelly. But it didn't ruin the film. Honestly, I think Del Toro's character was the actual protagonist and the film was really his story.

I liked it a lot but Blunts' character was somewhat implausible even without the way she played it. I took from it the entire, 'becoming what you hate' aspect of our nation's drug war... def saw Del Toro as THE main antagonist with that in mind. I did hear they gave the green light to a sequel of sorts that focuses solely on his character so maybe you're more on point BI.

You know its bad when my fiance is sitting next me near the end of the movie and says "I wish she'd just get over it. Yeah, they're not doing it by the book. We've known that since the first time you met these guys."

No doubt, he's Top 10 for sure. Javier Bardem is my #2, Christian Bale #3

That's just insane. #2? WTF

Just watched Hell or High Water.

Ben Foster is a better actor than both those guys. How he doesn't have an award by now is insane. Bridges also nailed it. And is better than both those you mentioned.

Same with mine... which is funny because to me, my oldest daughter, my wife, my mother, my sister, and anyone else around my youngest daughter who has to watch Frozen constantly,... the consensus is we all enjoyed Brave, Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Finding Dory, Up and others all more than Frozen... I just don't get the appeal of that movie, but young girls freakin love them some Frozen, for sure.

I love Rudy, but my movie on that tip is probably Field of Dreams... can watch it endlessly and cry every. damn. time.

Honestly tho, any decent sports movie is my shizz, The Natural, Hoosiers, We Are Marshall, Rudy... the list goes on and on... you can have a sappy movie with a Hollywood ending and I'm rolling my eyes at it..... unless someone is bouncing a ball or swinging a bat... lol

Oh, I like Brave much better.

But you're right....my daughter is 3 and it's "Let it go" non-stop.

My daughter is two and can correctly identify Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Chewbacca, R2-D2, BB-8 and Boba Fett. Her favorite movie (besides sing-alongs) is Ratatouille of all things. Strange considering the lack of music to keep her entertained.

Don't mean to be Mr. Obvious here, but it is written with little girls as the target audience.

I really liked Princess and the Frog myself... American Princess, I love Creole Culture, loved the throwback animation style... the story was basic but I really enjoyed it overall.

btw, it's totally okay for a man to have his fav Disney Princesses once you got little girls running around the house... and not for the time tested, "That Jasmin outfit would look so hot on my girlfriend" reason. I'm def a Merida and Tiana guy, being Scottish-American and all makes that easy, but I def recognize that Belle is THE Princess.

Cinderella is THE princess, fool. The Princess Trinity is Cinderella, Snow White, and Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), in that order.

It's cute how you find new and interesting ways to be wrong on this site almost daily...... ;)

Honestly though I have always been under the impression, and have read more than once, that Belle is Disney's greatest and most highly regarded princess... if that makes sense.

The feminists hate the early princesses because of the damsel in distress role. So Cinderella and the like get a bad rap.

I'm sure that's part of it... in fairness the fact that her movie blew most others away plays a part too...

You are confusing great actors and your favorite actors.

Ben Foster is my favorite actor, nudging out Michael Shannon. But Foster's got one move = Bad azz / psycho guy... which he nails every time. (Alpha Dogs, 3:10, yada, yada, yada) I mean, who's gonna remember him in the shipwreck movie with Captain Kirk or his work in Six Feet Under??? Ben Foster isn't in the Top 20

In regards to Hell or High water... Loved it. Bridges was on his game. The last scene on the porch with him and Pine was electric. Foster played Foster. Just like Pacino plays Pacino and DeNiro plays DeNiro. Something I find interesting about Bridges: This is at least his 4th mush-mouthed part he's done recently. He did Crazy Heart, True Grit and an unwatchable fantasy movie called Seventh Son. What's up with this trend?
