Anybody know more about this? I mean, it sounds bad, but I had a buddy that was a 16 year old sophomore that was dating a 14 year old freshman. It is a pretty common occurance actually (in many states, totally legal), my buddy has been married to that girl for 12 years now. I would want to know the age differences and the situation before assuming that this kid really did something wrong. He may have just been with his girlfriend, who had some spiteful parents. Happens all of the time.

Then, if he was getting publicly humiliated with heckling, I could understand him acting out. There is a lot more to this story it seems. Could definetely be a case of circumstance.

PS - By no means am I defending him, just saying that this situation might not be as black/white as it seems.

For the charge of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, the difference in age between the adult and the minor needs to be four years.

IIRC, he was an 18 year old senior receiving oral sex from a 14 year old freshman in their high school locker room. Her father called the police.

He is on two years probation and this assault charge broke the terms of his plea agreement/probation. The DA has filed for a revocation of his parole on the grounds that he violated his plea/probation. This could be ruled on by Judge Jackson as early as Friday.

Tiger fans are already predicting a slap on the wrist that wont effect football. From the state, university or the football program. #GEAUXPEDOKITTIES

This is disappointing. It's really not the type of thing that goes down at Vandy. It's a great school with a rich academic history. It looks like the University acted swiftly and decisively.

Notice the correlation between Vandy starting to win and the type of players being recruited now?

During his tenure at Florida, Urban Liar saw 31 Gators arrested.

Interesting numbers; quote from Her Loyal Sons"

Of a total of forty NFL players arrested in 2013, 12 of them (30%) hail from the SEC, 6 (15%) from the Big 12, 5 from the ACC (12.5%), and 4 (10%) each from The B1G and The American. Compare those percentages to the total number of pro players hailing from the two “leading” conferences, 314 (18.5% of total players) from the SEC and 162 (9.55% of total players) from the Big 12. They’re almost doubling their contribution, as it were. Also noteworthy, I found, was the presence of Temple and Harvard on the list, and the shockingly low numbers of Oakland and Dallas players on the list. It goes without saying, perhaps, that no Notre Dame players made the list in 2013 or in 2012.

If you run the names back to the beginning of 2012, the list grows to eighty-five arrestees, and the number of SEC players grows to 25, or 29.4% of the total. In that same period, the Big 12 “only” adds another four “bad boys,” such that it now accounts for 11.7% of the 85 players arrested since 12/31/2011.

What does this mean? Well, a lot, actually. My hypothesis at this time is that the “percentage-contribution” of SEC-players will remain relatively consistent over time, meaning that as you add numbers of arrestees, the SEC’s percentage of that number will fall much slower (30% v. 29.4%) than that of its nearest 2013 competitor, The Big 12. And, in that short eighteen month sample, The Big 12′s percentage-contribution of arrestees quickly closed on equaling its percentage-contribution of total number of players, while the SEC contributed far more arrestees, on a percentage basis, than it did on a total player basis.

"The judge reminded Hill of the fate of Cecil Collins, who played at LSU in 1997 and whom the judge called one of the "greatest" and "dumbest" Tigers running backs of all time. Collins' once-promising career was ruined by constant trouble with the law and years of prison time."

Never a good thing to have a judge compare you to Cecil the Diesel. Coincidentally Cecil Collins was just set free.

OK...I'm going out on a limb (after watching that video) and will say that Jeremy Hill is a punk. Please tell me LSU booted him from the team?

The state of Louisiana, Louisiana State University and Tiger fans throughout the state expect him not to miss a single practice rep.

Video of the assault released by DA.

Jeremy Hill pleads Guilty to Simple Battery @ TigerDroppings.com

Aaaand gems from 12 pages of the thread on tigerdroppings.com:

Tigerdroppings.com said:
Now what?
Tigerdroppings.com said:
Extended probation...please!
Tigerdroppings.com said:
This was expected. Extended probation and he gets reinstated to the team.
Tigerdroppings.com said:
For simple battery? Bull shite. Most people get a fine and have to go to a course on how to not solve problems with violence. Even people with priors.
Tigerdroppings.com said:
Well simple battery is better than another sex offense. Look at the bright side, he's becoming a better citizen.
Tigerdroppings.com said:
Probation extended.

Pay a fine.

Back on team.
Tigerdroppings.com said:
He may be suspended one game.

If any at all.
Tigerdroppings.com said:
I doubt even two games

But whatever. At least he'll be back on the team soon.
Tigerdroppings.com said:
They should've never made such a big deal out of it in the first place.
Tigerdroppings.com said:
Where's all the rantards at that said Hill was going to receive jail time?
Tigerdroppings.com said:
The Honorable Mike Erwin was born January 17, 1950, in Franklinton, Louisiana. After graduating from Franklinton High School in 1968, Judge Erwin attended Southeastern State University where he obtained a B.S. in Political Science in 1972, before obtaining a B.S. in Criminal Justice from LSU in 1976. Judge Erwin later graduated from Southern University School of Law in 1979.
Tigerdroppings.com said:
He aint going to jail.
Tigerdroppings.com said:
Judge Irwin!!!!
Tigerdroppings.com said:
Still undefeated
Tigerdroppings.com said:
Good news.. 5alive had inside info.

Hill will not be suspended any games, but he will not start the first 1-2 games.
Tigerdroppings.com said:
The dude look like he was drunk(getting up off the ground at the start), as he was stumbling before Hill even hit him. I've seen tons of fights and never seen a guy get arrested. This guy was a pussy if he reported it to the police or whoever did report it is public enemy number one.

Why was Hill's friend's shirt almost torn off? Something happened prior to the recording. Also the dude recording it tried to make it clear it was "Jeremy Hill" by not only saying his whole name but repeating it. Seems like a set up.
Tigerdroppings.com said:
I have seen nothing from Jeremy Hill that leads me to believe he's a thug, bad guy, or some type of cancer. I mean, he's pretty stupid for punching some dude while he's on probation, and under a spotlight, but other than being a dumbass, I've seen nothing that says he's a discipline problem that needs to handled. Just my two cents.
Tigerdroppings.com said:
I wanted TM back as well

Basically if a Player is good, he should stay. If he sucks, have les make an example out of him.

I ****ing hated living with these jerk-offs for two years.

Thanks Andy...that was outstanding. Nice view into the world that is LSU. I hate LSU more than Bama but not as much as Urban and OSU/Florida. Hill is a punk and will eventually be in jail.

This story didn't deserve its own thead, so I figured I'd put it here. I hate the $EC.

SEC will 'continue to push' for NCAA change, commissioner Mike Slive says - ESPN

From the article

Slive in the past has pushed for full cost-of-attendance scholarships, and he reiterated that stance Tuesday, saying there ought to be a "so-called miscellaneous expense allowance or some other model that provides broad access to additional funds."

I'm pretty sure the $EC already has this covered. Insert pics of recent recruits holding wads of ca$h.

Antonio Morrison was arrested, again. This time, it was for "barking" at a police dog and resisting arrest.
Morrison -- a 6-foot-1, 230-pound sophomore expected to be the Gators' starting middle linebacker this season -- told the officers he barked at the dog because the dog barked at him first.
He will be suspended this time.

For that arrest, [June 16 battery for punching bouncer] Morrison entered into a deferred prosecution, which stated he must pay $100 in prosecution costs and either an additional $150 or perform 12 hours of community service. He must also complete a University of Florida drug-and-alcohol abuse course, attend an anger-management course and participate in two eight-hour ride-alongs with the University of Florida Police Department.

This time perhaps the judge should have Morrison do two more eight-hour ride alongs but with the dog he assaulted ... after Morrison gets rabies and distemper shoots.

Did MTSU petition the NCAA to get into $EC and I miss it?

Police: MTSU player choked woman while teammates watched - College Football News | FOX Sports on MSN

Ronni Cantrell, 19, of Knoxville met with university police on Friday, and they released a report Monday saying they have a copy of a videotape showing the woman pleading with defensive tackle J.D. Jones to stop choking her first with his hand, then his arm from behind.

Officer Adam Wortman wrote the videotape is narrated by other suspects who did not help the woman and said the choking ''happens all the time or every day.'' The officer wrote that a friend is seen and heard trying to stop Jones from choking Cantrell only to be threatened by other men in the room, according to the report first obtained by The Daily News Journal.

I wonder if I would have done this if it would have been dropped?

Probably not.

I have the inkling that Morrison's prior incident and resulting deferred prosecution agreement worked in his favor. Had this arrest stood it would have tripped the deferred prosecution a place the D.A. didn't want to go.

I had a niece that lived in Murfreesboro, nice quite town . . . That was fifteen or twenty years ago, when the town was half the size. I remember thinking, what a nice place to raise a family.

What I can never get is the number of people that wouldn't, weren't or don't file charges in these cases. How many do you think go unreported?

There is a whole class of violent criminal that beats women, impregnates them, beats them some more. Then finally kills them. The number one cause of death in America among pregnant women is murder.
