As much as it would be nice to do this, I can't dig it. It sets a terrible precedent.

Who gets to decide who's in the interest of national intelligence? It's too subjective and a very slippery slope.

That's a good point, but in all honesty, the idea of "national security" has been on a slippery slope since 9/11. It was only a matter of time until something else happened, and more "security measures" are debated/instituted.

I agree with you that it could set a dangerous precedent... but the emotions after seeing what these two have done lead me to not really care what happens to this guy at the moment. Public execution for any residents of Boston that wish to attend was my first thought. I now think that would be dumb, but denying him the right to a lawyer? That's acceptable for a terrorist/mass-murderer, regardless of nationality, especially if he might have friends around.

Which is point B. Especially when we've had some people get taken in due to alleged contact with the suspect.

Maybe he has a whole network that's aiding him?


And I doubt after doing what he's done, he's asking for "help". Don't try to humanize this monster.

Well I don't plan on committing acts of terror or murder, so I don't think I'll be in a position to have my Miranda rights denied in the interest of national security any time soon.

LOL. I was just saying that along the way, he broke into someone's house, and for some reason told them he wanted to turn himself in, so some moron is hiding him there until he does so. Not likely, I agree. And I also agree there is a possibility of other suspects who are connected to all of this helping him hide.

No one his humanizing anyone.

I have to agree with Walter. As much as I really don't care what happens to a cold-blooded killer, I'd still prefer that citizens are afforded due process no matter the circumstances. It's easy to dismiss rapists, killers, pedophiles, etc., but part of the reason we love this country and want it protected from these nutjobs is because of our rights given to us under the constitution. Once we start throwing those rights away what do we have left? Security? Or perhaps a false sense of security...

What? Do you even read and/or try to understand what people are saying or are you just looking for ways to say stupid things? What happened to the MIT officer is tragic and he is a hero. But that doesn't have anything to do with what I said or the point I was making. They hid for three days, and if they were just out to kill as many people as they could they would have been out killing people until they were killed or ran out of weaponry during that time. The point is that it seems like they had a plan and an agenda. Why do you find that to be such an offensive idea?

None of this even matters, though. Who cares what they were thinking? Doesn't make them any less sick or depraved. But the point came up so I'm just responding to it. Stop trying to twist my words around to make it seem like I'm a sympathizer or I don't care about the victims. I live here. The victims are my people and there is nothing in the world that I want more than for this sick **** to be found and get what is coming to him. You're sole concern here seems to be the racial and political backgrounds of these terrorists, and you seem willing to only consider information or perspective that supports what you want the answers to be. A lot of the things you've said here are incredibly stupid, and people disagreeing with you doesn't make them on the terrorists' side.

That's the problem... how far are we willing to go to be "safe?" I understand your point, and ultimately you and Walter are right.

I just think "due process" ran it's course for this gentleman when he started throwing grenades/bombs at police.

You kept leaving out the cop in your rant about how they "could've killed more people"...Kept going with the 3 people...they killed 4.

You make yourself seem like a sympathizer. But if you say you're not, I believe you. I won't argue.

And I'm calling it like I see it. It's you and a few others that want this, with every fiber of your being, to just be a white guy from America.

Well it wasn't. So now people, including yourself, went on the campaign to hopefully dig up something to grasp onto (well they ARRREEEE citizens, he looks like a"white" guy)...in the meantime, anyone that mentions foreign terrorist, is a "racist" and only concerned with race. Ignoring the fact that it's much more likely that guys with foreign names and connections, with slightly darker skin and features, that just got done blowing up innocent people, are radicals that hate America.

We have different ways of thinking. I'd rather assume that he's not an american, and an enemy of the state from the get go, giving my country the benefit of the doubt. Then, if he's proven to be some crazy, redneck in a cabin somewhere? I'll be the first to chastize him.
