Good luck to him and to the Colts organization. I think this move was for the best

Personally, as a Redskins fan, I don't know how sold I am on the idea of bringing in Manning...I guess I'm still not fully sold on his health and I come from the school of, if we do get Manning, that we are playing with a 2-3yr window before we are back in the same situation...

As more of a Manning fan than a Colts fan, we all knew this day was coming, but it still saddens me to not see Manning finishing his career with the Colts. Easily one of the greatest quarterbacks ever, he helped turn the Colts into one of the most prominent and consistently successful franchises in the league. He has done so much for the city of Indianapolis and the entire state of Indiana. He will always be one of my favorite players ever, and I truly hope everything works out for him.

You have got to be f'ing kidding me. A Redskins fan doesn't want to sign Manning. A blind, paraplegic Peyton would be a huge upgrade from any of your QBs in the last oh..30 years.

Yes you are 100% correct. However this puts the skins in a werid spot. Do you go after Manning for 2-3 years and take that chance? Do you trade up for RGIII and get your franchise QB, but at the same time kill your other needs since we had to trade them all away? Or Last option do You go after someone like Flynn low risk that won't cost as much as Manning that still allows us to trying to sign Fletcher back, upgrade saftey, and get another Wr? As a skins fan should be intresting to see how all this works out.

As much as I want to get excited about him possibly coming to the phins, I just know Jeff Ireland is going to sh!t the bed on this, it's just what he does.

I was thinking San Francisco would be the perfect spot but, Harbaugh said Alex Smith was his guy.

Seeing him in another uniform will be like seeing Montana in a Chiefs uniform. Just won't seem right. I think he'll go where he feels like he has the best chance to win championships, money will be the secondary issue. I think he still feels like he has something to prove.

Oh please believe it would undoubtedly be an upgrade...but after all of our free-agent busts (Haynesworth) and/or trades (See McNabb), I just don't feel comfortable with it all yet...especially if he's one hit away from being done...Now, my sarcasm meter isn't high right now...8hrs with high schoolers has me worn out

Note: Yes, I know that one hit can end anybody's career....

I wasn't being sarcastic. Pretty pissed off right now. Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. I don't want the Redskins signing him though. I'd like to see him in AZ throwing to Larry Fitzgerald.

Because they suck. I really don't know. I'd assume he only wants to play for a team that has a possibility of making the playoffs.

Peyton was a great QB and MAYBE he can be again for a few more years but with the type of injury he has, there are too many unknowns. Even though the Dr. said he is cleared to play, it doesn't mean he can play. Unfortunately there is a very good chance he won't get back nearly as much arm strength as he once had.

IMO He's now a huge gamble that fans might be willing to take, but not very many sane NFL owners unless he's willing to take a huge pay cut.

Besides being talented, Peyton is smart and has a good football mind. I think he should start looking into coaching. If NFL rules permit, maybe he could get on with some team as a player/asst cord.? Then if the playing ability isn't there, he can still be an asset on the coaching staff?????

I know I'm a bit of a homer, but if you don't think owners are going to take a chance on Peyton Manning, you're nuts. And naturally he's going to take a pay cut since he was one of, if not the highest paid player in the NFL.
