He's no Michigan Man in the Bo sense of the word. Living in Ann Arbor isn't the same.

He's a Newhouse Man, the best "Man" you can be as a Broadcast Journalist/Announcer.

Give Tirico some sensitivity training, go hire Aaron Taylor away from CBS, have Mayock and Jack Collinsworth do the halftime show from the sidelines and most importantly, bring back Alex on the sidelines where she belongs.

He’s doing play by play on Notre Dame’s first three NBC games of the season because Dan Hicks is covering golf’s Fed-Ex Cup playoffs. How come this is Tirico’s first crack at waking the echoes?

Flutie was horrible - making fun of the MSU "trophy" was the antithesis of college football. What a knob. Don't remember him having so much attitude in the past. Wanted to punch him.

Tirico is a short time fill in for Dan Hicks, while Hicks does golf. I wish he was permanent.

Tirico has been great. I honestly can not understand what NBC sees in Flutie. I also can not understand why they continue to hire heads that openly don't like ND. Baffles me.

I'd take Pat Haden over Doug Flutie 10 out of 10 times. At least Pat had some personality and charisma. Doug is boring, makes his ND hate known more than any other announcer and is as exciting as paint drying. He doesn't even pretend to like what he is doing, but obviously has nothing better to do.

I guess I don't think that Flutie is openly biased except when he sort of jokes about it. But I don't think he's very good. He doesn't tell me anything that I didn't see myself. Replace him with Mayock and I'd be pretty happy.

This. I'm surprised how informed Tirico has been, it's like he's actually doing his job and researching the teams. There were at least two points Tirico made about the team that the average sportscaster wouldn't have known last night. He's only been covering the Irish for a short time too, that's what's so impressive. I wish I could recall the facts he brought up, but it was beyond what anyone else would bring to the table. It made me think "How did he know that? That's the kind of stuff only fans know." He didn't make any outlandish claims like "Bennet Jackson is the best corner for the Irish." As they say, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." It's sad that this is just a short time gig, Tirico is destined for bigger things, but at least we get to enjoy his professionalism for a few games.

Well, to be fair, Haden also had experience as an on-air color commentator. ABC had two former Trojans (Lynn Swann) doing nationally televised games and I would say that lineup was far superior to any group ND has had in the last twenty-five years.
