Have the boos ever been louder or more prominent? I don’t think so.

I honestly don’t know. You can hear them much louder on tv now. But from people that aren’t the stadium on here, 247 and isd all saying the don’t recall it being this much. I honestly don’t know.

lol judging people off of high school test scores. Cool bruh, shows you’re a close minded person 🤷🏼‍♂️
It's weird to talk about ACTs 20+ years after the fact, but in reality, an 18 is not too hot to say the least. Kinda wish I didn't know he did that poorly. Every time he makes a dumb move I'll be reminded of this. Guess it explains all the wwf or whatever talk...

Like telling reporters no one in the Gug thought they’d lose to NIU and that they did not prepare or take them seriously?

The boos were loud and clear in the stadium and I don't recall it that loud in a long time.

The student section doing a loud and clear Steve Angeli chant in q1 was wild too

You could hear that Angeli chant over the broadcast.

IMO, there is no reason whatsoever not to involve Angeli when the offense clearly is grasping. Just come in, provide a spark, get it going, and bring back Riley. People hate the two QB approach, but IDGAF at this point, I just want to keep winning games. Do whatever is necessary. ND can't afford to waste an entire half with bad offensive production and just hope Riley breaks a tackle for a QB run score. It's a ridiculous offensive game plan and they need to get this figured out.

Steve should get a series if we fail to score on two straight drives. Let the cream rise to the top.

Guys…we aren’t talking about some supremely talented guy In Angeli. He isn’t good either. If Minchey or Carr did enough to be qb2, i would get it. But Angeli is not a special talent and isn’t good enough of a passer to make people scared

At this point I'm wondering if whatever boosters are paying RL have tied Freeman's hands? Otherwise this is inexcusable

Lol. We’re talking about historically low passing with RL. Angeli will look like Montana next to him. We’ve already seen what Steve can do in a full game. His career numbers are great so far

How in the world are you in a position to say this? Angeli has played well in the past for ND, and shown competence in throwing the football - something Leonard has not.

The other thing to consider is that ND's running game is going to be good with or without Leonard; Love and Price are that good. So if Leonard can't complete a pass 10+ yards down the field consistently, and Angeli gives you that, what is the justification in continuing to trot Leonard out there?

I mean, maybe don’t lose to Marshall and Northern Illinois, you know? I don’t feel bad for Marcus.
I mean I imagine not many feel bad for him, it’s the nature of being the head coach at ND or any big school for that matter. If you lose games you’re going to be criticized

His pregame comments said it all. Miami should be confident and we just need to take what they give us. Marcus' passive mentality is killing this program.

One thing I'm concerned about is apathy in the fans. It's not exactly a secret that Notre Dame's fanbase is contingent on being relevant at football.

This board was checked out this weekend. People will find better things to do than watch a shitty football team on Saturdays

I don’t feel bad for him. Matter of fact he should probably get used to it. He has two very good coordinators and the team is just good. They aren’t above average or very good at all. And due to this QB’s situation this year I would be surprised if we had some significant transfers that hurt the team next year.

I don't know. I don't think he's talking to us. He's talking to RL. "You're our guy" "NIU was two weeks ago and you are getting better each week" "We will set you up to be successful and have your back."

Did Tressel ever say anything bad about players to the media, without softening it first? I know why he resigned and about him making sure his players were taken care of, but Freeman is going to emulate the things he loved most about that guy. Having your player's backs in public seems like something he'd copy.

I believe Tressel when he says, “I don't think less of myself. I felt all the time as if I was doing the right thing for the safety of our young people.”

He's clearly tried of answering the same questions about the QBs ability to throw. He's almost visible searching for a response in parts of that video. I've come to grips that it is Leonard or bust. However, there is no way any offensive coordinator is not calling those two passes to Mitchell and Flanagan that were perfectly schemed up for the easiest of throws. If you can't push the ball downfield at all, you have to hit those throws. Freeman wants the benefit of the doubt for Leonard (for whatever reason), but this season was suppose to be ND's best chance in some time. Expectations amongst the fans were way too high going into this season for any benefit of doubt, then you add the way MF handled the NIU game (which I think he did Leonard no favors) and the NIL dollars tied to him. It's a recipe for a frustrated fanbase and annoyed coach. Leonard has to be more consistent, but understand there is the shortest of leashes from the fans. That likely isn't changing anytime soon, but neither is Leonard starting/playing.
