Did I just get a positive review by SIB..... I know I need to stop taking my meds now........
Believe it or not, when people post sensible things, I react accordingly. I don't know you from Adam, there's no grudge here, haha. It was a good post, ID!
SIB, neg review this one and the world will be back in balance.....
I'm gonna let him have this one! Can't say I didn't think about it, though, after I read your post :ROFLMAO:

Shout out to this man. Humility and self reflection at its finest. Think about this....flying overseas for the first game, have new OC, new QB, new OL coach, in the rain....0 communication issues. A team that was focused, hungry and prepared. Only one game, but damn, great start to the year for Marcus. Really happy for him. Such a night and day difference than a year ago

I think this is part of why Parker was a good call to promote.

Freeman has that rapport and prior communication, where there is familiarity within the coaching staff.

I think that goes a long way. Freeman has had time to work with all the defensive coaches, and sans Rudolph, all the offensive coaches.

Underrated point. The continuity and rapport you maintain from hiring within is a big deal. They've known each other for years.
No doubt the heat they took from the hiring process was deserved, from an optics perspective.

Parker rewarded that faith today.

Man I’ve started every year for at least the last 10 years cautiously optimistic. I don’t know what we’ve got either. But it feels real good right now. I’ll remain cautiously optimistic, at least until after the NC State game. Shit might get real after that.

We'll see. Maybe. But Freeman is building a culture and having an OC he trusts like he does Parker is important. Maybe more important than the tactical stuff. Especially when you have Guidugli and a deeply experienced QB like Hartman.

Did I doubt the culture he's trying to build?

If I were Freeman and someone asked me the biggest lesson I learned in year 1 of being a HC, I would say without flinching, “That I will never have a DII level QB running my offense again.”

I reckon listening to him the biggest lessen he did learn was to be process focussed /obsessed rather than outcome focussed - like Saban always jibbers on about.

One stark difference with MF vs the previous 12 years is that he clearly values playing young guys early and getting them meanful reps. Not only will it pay dividends in the next 2-3 years, but more impressively the young guys have seemed prepared and are executing at a pretty high level when they get their chance for how young they are. Marcus Freemans culture is real.

Listening to his PC today just goes to show his personality. They way he talks his coaches up is a thing of beauty.
