I don't think Barkley is leading by as much as others do. He did not have a good game against OSU. His rushing stats are far below Josh's stats.

Yeah. I mean, I usually cite the OL when a rb has success. However, his YAC is amazing and the way he hits the hole is just awesome.

I'm just thrilled to see the university promoting him hard.

Exactly! Barkley had negative yards rushing in the second half. The best player in college football should do better than that.

With this logic Barkley is out of consideration then too since he’s had multiple games where he has averaged less than 3 yards per carry

I think the edge Barkley is getting is due to All-Purpose yards. He has returned kicks for 2 TDs and 47 YPG, caught 36 passes for 3 TDs and 59 YPG. Add that to his 100 YPG rushing and he is at 206 All-Purpose YPG and 14 TDs.

Love is at 201 YPG and 11 TDs.

Josh is at 156 All-Purpose YPG and 9 TDs.

How many quarters has Josh Adams not played in? On 5 less carries Adams has 300+ more rushing yards than Barkley, his YAC is insane. Adams deserves the Heisman in my opinion.

I think he needs ND to win out along with going for another 800 yards and 6 TD's in the final stretch.

Crazy numbers but not out of reach.

If MSU can live up to their rushing defense and shut down Barkley and UDub and ND both shutdown Love i think it's a good chance he could bypass those two on top of Barrett and Mayfield.

What's Barkley done to impress people? He's played a much easier schedule and is worse than Adams in every RB statistical category.

He was already dubbed the front runner and his APY keep him up there.

If Adams media blasted everyone in the beginning of the season as a Heisman contender then i think he wouldn't be looking up hill but much rather down hill.

All this. Plus Barkley has some highlight reel plays. That stop on a dime on the sideline against Iowa was amazing. Josh just boringly puts together great rushing stats, breaking straight away against teams. No flash (other than that disrespectful stiff arm against Miami).

Josh for Heisman is a "hard sell" for anyone who doesn't watch a lot of ND football.

He doesn't have a lot of wiggle which doesn't result in a lot of plays where you are blown away with athletic ability.

He runs behind one of the best OL in the country. So many dismiss the numbers he is putting up.

What has to be stressed is:

The fact that he leads college football in yards after contact
The sheer number of long runs
The fact that he's putting up these stats despite ND not having much passing game and everyone know's that Adams is going to get the ball.
