Anyone try this Isagenix cleanse product? A few of my friends have tried it and love it. They're much larger than me, though. I'm ~ 15% body fat so I could afford to lose some bad weight, but it sounds like this is more for very obese people.

My worry is, my track record says I care about health for about 2 weeks, then I'm on to something else, so I don't think I'll spend ~$250 on a product if I'm going to continue my up and down healthy habits, but interested in what people think of Isagenix.

Just eat clean. Every six months or so, run a ten day all natural cleanse. You can pick one up at a whole food store for $30 or less.

It's cliche, but diet is the key. And the older you get, the more important it becomes. Eat clean and you'll be lean.

Yeah, as lame as it sounds, diet is 90% of the battle whether you're trying to lose fat or add muscle.

Yeah, I'm just surprised by the huge price and how many people seem to think its worth it when there are other products that are ~ 10 times cheaper.

I "cleanse" with beer and red wine all the time.

I time my metabolic rate by eating corn and ...

Works for me.

Don't listen to him. I have a great investment in cheap land in Eastern Ukraine with a great view of Russia.

I've got a nice cabin on a freshwater lake in Antarctica I'm selling...cheap!

I don't know why everyone's having fun with this, but the jokes have been C- at best. If you're going to turn a serious thread into a play pen, at least bring some wit to the table.

There's a lot of buzz about this product which is surprising considering it costs ~$250-290. I don't think I'll purchase it, but if anyone has, I'm interested to know what you thought. I don't know the sustainability of its effects, but three of my friends lost 12 pounds in 4 days, 9 pounds in 4 days, and 7 pounds in 4 days.

I was afraid you were going to tell us to "take a lap" for a second there.

The irony. It is dripping.

Too fast. It' likely not real weight (i.e., some of it is muscle). Generally, the "cleanse" trend strikes me as an unscientific fad. Most end up just having people eat/drink 1000 calories or fewer a day. Of course they'll lose weight.

See Irish19's post from above.

That's what I assumed and figured any smart consumer would know by now about these 'lose weight fast' products.

I thought this might be something different, though, given its ridiculously high price and the fact that people are actually buying it and happy with their decision.

The higher the price, especially when associated with something as personal as weight, the more people will convince themselves they were smart to buy it. Nobody likes to think back on a decision and admit they were stupid.

Watch your friends over the next month. I'd bet $ they gain it back as soon as they go back to their regular diet. Losing weight is mostly about having an unhealthy eating routine and changing it through willpower until you have a new routine.

It's a weird market, that's for sure.

Yeah, that's why I'm skeptical. If you don't use a product like this for a 'spring board' to a new lifestyle, it's temporary. But if you have a plan for healthy living afterwards, it sounds like it'd be a great start, but I still don't see $300 worth of a start.

My wife's sister tried this and she's the typical "try anything" consumer when it comes to losing weight. For some people the theory that if you eat clean, healthy foods and exercise you will lose excess weight, is not enough to motivate them.

This type of consumer needs the hand-held approach with specific hour by hour instructions, time saving options and detailed recipes.

We all pay for different types of luxuries and convenience. That's all this is.. A convenient way to starve off weight. Nothing beats a healthy diet and exercise.

I think Mr. Bryant would be seriously disappointed in you if he heard you were consuming Scooby snacks to lose weight. He doesn't re-tweet corner cutters ;)

When you put it like that, I'm downright ashamed. Going to take my lap right meow.

There are healthy ways to lose weight. It just takes dedication and time.

Now me...I have a metabolism like an F1 car. I have to be extremely motivated to even gain weight.

It's just as much of a curse as not being able to lose weight, trust me.

I can't imagine my cardiovascular system is happy with how I treated my body the past 10 years or so.

Those days are pretty much gone. I'm committing to living a more balanced and healthy lifestyle. Truth be told, I have gained a little bit of non muscle weight. That pleases me.

Should I drink protein shakes and not work out?
