I'd take him, but not over Freeman. If Freeman left, I'd be very open to it.

I was at the game on Saturday. In person the first quarter went pretty fast, and then it was kind of eternal. A lot of loooong TV timeouts.
Yeah the new rule is going to degrade the in person experience

I always thought Dave Aranda would be a home run hire and perfect fit for Notre Dame. But, after last Saturday, I’m starting to wonder what the deal is with him and/or Baylor.

Almost makes me not want to start penciling in Mike Elko for various jobs other than the one he currently has, you know?

I woke up groggy, checked my phone and for a few moments read the title as ‘Is ND too toxic for Lane Kiffen’ and immediately thought,… well shit, what major news story did I miss last night??

Just wait...Ryan Day to the Bears, Freeman to OSU, Kiffin to ND.

This job ain’t what it used to be, but it is also light years ahead of the late 00’s, when names like Randy freaking Edsall were being kicked around when Weis’s seat got hot.

ND should never trade integrity for wins. And that would be exactly what they would be doing bringing in a guy like Kiffen.

At the end of the day though ND is still attempting success in big boy college football,… you can become Yale or you can play ball,… I’m okay with either route for obvious reasons but at some point you either have to drop the deuce or get off the seat

When losing costs them money they would. ND has no integrity when it comes to its own bag men. In bygone times they hired Holtz in order to win, they knew who he was.

What has Kiffen done that showed a lack of integrity other than cheating on his wife? Maybe I’m forgetting something.

He bailed on Tennessee after a year to become a Trojan, and then they left him on the runway in an equally kind gesture. Both were dick moves.

There are many good coaches that do not share Kiffens low quality characteristics. And there are better coaches than Kiffen. No reason to settle with that guy. And it would be a settle.

Surrrrrrvey Says?!? YES.

The recorded conversation between Kiff and this dude is pretty damning:

I mean - Kiffin can kick rocks and I would never want him anywhere near the ND program but who is shocked to hear this type of thing out of an SEC football coach?

If the kid didn’t show up to meet with the coach and left them in the lurch for two weeks that is pretty shady even in a down mental stretch.
While acknowledging that some people have real issues and also having worked with people who have "mental health crises" and leave the rest of the group to pick up for them, I tend to agree with Kiffin.

I'm for mental wellness, but you're not going to draw sympathy from people if you're refusing to show up and provide an explanation for weeks. I get that it can be a struggle to even get out of bed, but you have to accept some responsibility too when you fail to do your part. You're not a victim with a bargaining chip.

I hate the speed up the game stuff,… it costs more to go to a game than ever and we are trying to shorten it?? If you love the game you want to watch the game

If they played a 165 game season I would get it but it’s already far too brief at 12/13 game season.
