Is Kiffen too toxic to be ND's head coach?

Lol what? Are you ranting about LSU or Kiffin? This is like complaining about Harbaugh by citing problems that happened at Purdue.

Read my lips.

KIffin will NEVER be picked by Notre Dame. That ain't happening. But he fits well at OLE MISS and would be a home run hire for LSU.

There are "horses for courses" Very few coaches fit the Notre Dame profile, but there are like 130 schools in D-1, about 60 power 5 spots.

Let me be pluperfectly clear. Were I the LSU AD I would make my first call to Kiffin. And have Louisiana fat cats ready to pay any buyout to Ole Miss.

My point is the DIVORCE and things that make Kiffin inapropos for ND are not at all disqualifying in Red Stick.

But that LSU program has swept some pretty big things, as in shooting kids, under the rug in the name of victory.

And THOSE factors may be an undercurrent in the Walker Howard and Ausberry kids looking outside of Baton Rouge.

Well who is out there and how much longer to we have BK as our HC? Freeman needs at least 3 more years of success and seasoning. Even with that not sure he is the right choice for his first HC job.

Stoops - but it would be a looooooooooooooooooong shot.... Stoops is only a year older than BK. Stoops did a year in the XFL so, I think he may be wanting a NFL HC position. But, who knows?

Saw him on Gameday this morning. I guess I’ve never really heard him speak much in the media before, but from what I saw today, dude is an absolute tool.

I think he's a walking troll these days, especially with the way he walked in and out of Knoxville this year. It's entertaining, but yeah...probably still a tool. I thank him for his service in helping end the losing streak against USC all the same.

God may forgive the biggest sins, but not ND

Don't clown Jesus Don't make Christ your bitch.

Forgiveness is subject to the Condition precedent of (1) admission of guilt (2) repentance for the transgression
And then subject to the Condition Subsequent of firmly resolving to amend one's life.

For further information on the Sacrament of Penance, cf Aquinas Thomas, Summa Theologica

The selection of
leaders or young men and women

ROLE MODELS for such young men and women.

Those are distinctions with a difference

read my lips. If lane Kiffin walks into a confessional at Sacred Heart Cathedral, he is welcome, more than welcome to confess his sins.

Now and if he falls again, no matter how many times.

He is not welcome to lead men and be a role model.

This is Notre Dame.

Not some evangelical shithole like Liberty University. Cf Trey "I want to watch Giancarlo Granda bang my wife" Falwell. Quid Vide

There is a difference.

Why is this still going?

Great question.

Just so we're clear, You talking about the thread itself or shunning people who are divorced?

Probably a bad time to mention that it is Friday and I had steak and eggs for breakfast, having a steak sandwich for lunch and I'm having steak for dinner. Directly to hell and it's going to be incredibly delicious.

Nah, that is Catholic church claptrap.

Of greater concern to me is that you do not fall into the trap of having
the same cut of meat
with the same seasoning
and the same preparation.

at each of the three meals. that is just droll. If you continue your dining pattern for the next 6 days, of course, somewhere, a turkey will be happy and relieved.

The art of the deal is to follow Christ as Way, Truth and Life, and select the stuff from the Catholic cupboard as you see fit.
There's some good stuff in there:
Eucharist
Saints (including the ones who are saints but got burned at the stake, cf, Porete, Marguerite)
sacraments, if you understand them the way Aquinas taught
One of the reasons the RAbbis went after Christ so murderously was that he upset the dietary rules applecart and then some.

Don't buy the hype

Christ, NEVER an institution

Worship or not as you please, but it is just lazy to equate following Christ with consumption of beef. It's just slothful, not artful.

Plus if you really want to piss some people off, have a pulled pork sandwich with a coke.

that takes care of the Muslims, the Messiah Deniers and the Church of Nephi and Laman and Joseph Smith found what golden plates where in Western New York?
Notwithstanding, assalam alaykum

The Prophet, in the Holy Q'uran had this right:

There is not God But God.

Heard that!

Lane Kiffin? seriously?

I can name at least 5 other candidates that i would rather see and I really don't think Lane Kiffin gets ND or would want to do all of the things that the head coach at ND has to do. Is he as toxic as say Urban Meyer? Obviously not, but he isn't someone that would want to deal with the the standards that come with being a coach at ND

I hate the speed up the game stuff,… it costs more to go to a game than ever and we are trying to shorten it?? If you love the game you want to watch the game

It's not about us.

It's not about player safety.

It's about the TV executives precious time windows and being able to fit the games into the windows with as little bleed over into the next window as possible.

Which I get, unless they are running ahead of schedule, like the Navy game this year, then it will be ENDLESS commercial breaks in the second half. One play, commercial, kickoff, commercial, 3 and out, commercial. It's hard enough to bare watching on tv, I can't imagine how much it disrupts the game flow for the players.

I mean...if your game plan is offensive tempo to offset mediocre offensive efficiency and bad defense, I can see how the new rules would be upsetting. But for teams that can control the line of scrimmage, this gives them a leg up. Great for ND IMO.

Pre-ND Lou Holtz would never have been hired by post-Holtz ND admins. So, I think that a Lane Kiffen could have been hired by previous admins, but not by any after Holtz.

I was at the game on Saturday. In person the first quarter went pretty fast, and then it was kind of eternal. A lot of loooong TV timeouts.
