Won't matter. He could be a great OC, but the stench associated with this will impact other owners, coaches and GM thoughts. He was deemed immature while in Denver and then did this.

I believe I correctly estimate it. Winning solves everything, they aren't petty school children. Owners became owners because they care about winning more than anything else.

Injury plagued and a severe case of bad-GMitis is more like it. Wouldn't really call them dysfunctional. I'd say for a team to be dysfunctional, the city/state would be fed up with ownership. Not the case IMO. Many even still loved the outgoing coach. They have a new GM now (which I believe was 70+% of the problem). If Luck comes back from injury this year, and they get a decent coach, all can be good again in Indy. The draft and FA market this year will be huge for the Colts to get back on track.

It's not a done deal, but I think he'll be a real good HC. He's been around the game in a number of positions and I hear he's well respected by players and coaches.

Also hearing arians is a long shot possibility, as a placeholder for a season or two if everything else falls through.

Three problems with Arians as a placeholder.
1. We already had a placeholder last year in Pagano. Everyone knew he was gone after this season before the season began. Only a deep playoff run would have bought him more time.
2. Arians quit because of his health. He's not 100%.
3. Bringing in a placeholder just delays getting back on track and means the team starts over with a new staff and philosophy in a year or two.

If they were to go the route of the placeholder, Dungy would be a better solution. He and Irsay have a great relationship, but I don't see that happening.

The Boston area may be quiet, but McDaniels is catching a lot more heat about this than I expected and it's not just here as noted above.

I'm not sure if Pederson called the plays for the Eagles or how much influence over the offensive design and playcalling Reich had but if any of Pederson's magic dust blew off on him the Colts will end up better of for this whole move. As much as I despise the city of Philadelphia and Philly fans I do like the Eagles and have followed them since they drafted McNabb (who outside of Randy Moss and then AP was my favorite football player from about 2000-2008) and I have to say that Super Bowl was the best called and coached game I've ever seen. It overtook the 2010 Super Bowl when Sean Payton called a beaut agains the Colts.

Heard Pederson calls the plays, but Reich is involved in all other aspects, analyzing opponents D, determining plays for the game, determining what plays for what situation. I think Reich is going to be good. As a former QB, he'll see things a little differently than a lot of coaches. Also heard he has the respects of players, coaches and management.

The key will be how good the dynamics are with the three coaches the Colts had signed during the McDaniel's Benedict Arnold move.

Frank is a great hire, surprised it took this long. The new OC, Nick Sirianni, is the brother of my college coach. Siriannis are a good family full of great coaching. They were part of the power house Mount Union.. Colts became my 2nd favorite team
