lol. Okay....how many ND fans are on a site? C'mon man.

If they sold them online, then they had to mail them anyway. As Dublin said... simply mail them to a ND fan. I didn't see RDU offer his up on the site. He went straight to the profit center.

But, if I live in North Carolina and my options for finding a ND locally isn't doable, I may be limited.
If you live in North Carolina and you're not some mega rich dude who's going to be travelling to campus six or seven times a year, why the hell would you buy season tickets in the first place? The North Carolina guy should be buying tickets to the game(s) he plans on attending and that's it. He should leave the rest for people who actually want to go to the games.

Also, you're not "limited." The Notre Dame ticket office will take the tickets back from you and sell them on consignment. For a sellout game, your options are NEVER limited because that one is always available to you.

The ticket office will take them back and sell them on campus. So the relevant number you're looking for is 100,000+.

That's just one example of the numerous ways that you could easily find ND fans that wanted to go to this game. It's silly to say the market isn't there when most weeks our stadium is filled with our actual fans. I understand we have a national fan base, but we also have plenty of fans within a few hours drive of South Bend that can easily get there when they need to. And it's not like people were exclusively selling their tickets 1 week before the game. They've been offloading them for months.

Unload them on the Chicago alumni club then. Plenty of people in the Chicago area that could go without much planning required.

Sure...there are options but timing still can be a problem. For example, go through the local alumni chapter with tickets from my family takes about 10 days to firmly settle up. The point is that having a national base and being so far away from the university makes it a bit more challenging that typical local fans/alumni of State U.

Any how many of those "fans" wanted to pay for them? Look, UGA fans REALLY wanted to be there. I wouldn't have sold my tickets to make a profit ( I attended the game with family) but simply saying locals are nearby doesn't stop the hoard of UGA fans willing to fork over thousands.

Timing wasn't a problem for most people that sold their seats. They put them on the market before the season started. 30 thousand tickets didn't suddenly become for sale during game week. They sold their tickets ahead of time to make a profit, simple as that.

Yeah I agree the logistics are more complicated, but I don't think that really played into any of what we witnessed this weekend. Most Georgia fans have had their tickets for months. Those could have gone to ND fans regardless of distance if our alums and season ticket holders didn't sell on stub hub as option #1. Most didn't even attempt to target ND fans first.

Don't disagree....my point was saying the example of comparing LSU and Bama could be apples and oranges. That is all.

feel like we are hitting our heads off a brick wall here, but the whole thing is an ethical choice and some folks made very selfish decisions and a disgrace to the fanbase.

Precisely. There should never have been the level of access to tickets that UGA fans had. Our fans sold the team out and it was embarrassing and disgraceful.

Also members of the Georgia board on SECRant (and I'm sure others) are laughing at us too. Laughing that the fan base is in "melt down mode" because they invaded the stadium. So, while some may say it had little effect on the field, meh fine whatever. But it sure as hell makes a difference in perception of our fanbase, and again recruits look at message boards. Georgia, and, more so other recruiting rivals, can use this as negative recruiting just like we say to use the lack of a filled stadium for Stanford.

most definitely, and look at the end of the day ND pumped millions and millions of dollars into this stadium to provide the team with a competitive advantage but a large amount of "fans" sold out for a couple of hundred bucks each.

This game will go down in UGA lore as the day they conquered ND Stadium. They'll take about it for decades to come.

If I came on here offering my tickets for half price, $500/per I would have quickly retreated to StubHub after starting an uproar from all you alligator arms over how you never pay more than face. Conversely, if I were unexpectedly in town and wanting tickets you would laugh and point about how I should pay up the scalpers - gfy. High and mighty leaches.

Except literally every ND fan that I knew who had extra tickets was offering them to other ND fans for face. That's the expectation. I wouldn't list my tickets on StubHub if I couldn't go. I would offer them to my friends and fellow alums because THAT IS WHAT YOU DO. You made a choice to sell for a profit, and I think that makes you a crappy fan. Disagree with me if you want, but I'm just calling it like I see it.

Why you not offer market value if you are a real fan? The only person who would jump on my half price offer would be someone looking to flip the tickets on StubHub - leach move.

I was hoping to go to the game with real people I actually know, it fell through. If I knew someone (not friend of a friend crap that ends up being someones GA cousin) they would have been theirs for face value. Would have sold to a friend who wanted to take his son for a game for face and neither of them are really ND fans - but someone I actually knew, not some internet acquaintance.

If I were to GET those tickets I would have offered more than face recognizing it was f-ing gift to pay face. If refused I would have a nice bottle of bourbon or something to show appreciation. For those of us that pay big $$ everytime the team is on the road in our neck of the woods I find the attitudes of the spoiled locals disgusting.

See you in Durham tough guy. 1/29/18 - Cameron Indoor Stadium, if you are a real fan of college sports you might have heard of it.

Make sure you greet the season ticket holder with a "thanks for making it, really appreciate your presence" at the next game..

Pretty sure I am going to give them the old shot to the nuts instead. Other thing about this game is i know its game 2 with video board, but we need to let the home operator to know, we don't show close plays for the opponent on the board to get their fan base worked up.. Video Board 101

"Then one of the Twelve, who was called RDU Iscariot, went to the Georgia fans and said, "What are you willing to give me if I hand them over to you?" They paid him thirty pieces of silver, and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand them over."

Some of you whine about the lamest of things. Who gives a fuck if someone wanted to make some money on their tickets?
