Please revote as the first poll created was not public. Posted on behalf of Bobias:

- Holds the school record for career receptions (140) and career receiving yards (1,840) by a tight end. (at TE U)
- Second Notre Dame tight end to ever record 10 or more career touchdown receptions.
- His 140 career catches rank sixth in school history regardless of position.
- Third Irish tight end to ever have at least 100 career catches.
- Two time Mackey Award Finalist. One time winner.
- Two time All-American. First team in senior year.
- NFL Pro Bowl Invite 2015
- All around good person, teammate, leader, and friend when I played with him.

Let's not forget he was somewhat unheralded coming out of HS.

Was not aware he graduated, if possible, please delete no vote.

Do you vote no for anyone that doesn't graduate or were there other factors for your vote?

It's amazing to me that anyone would vote no for Eifert. The guy is a walking symbol of Notre Dame.

I'll take Bobias' personal affirmation of the "excellent person" part of this designator to check that box.

Yes, I think someone should be a graduate.

That's fair, I disagree and the board disagreed on the thread where we voted on what a Notre Dame Man is, but it's fair if that's how you feel.

Actually the board agreed with him. It was over 50% but we chose not to make that a requirement.

Ahh. Well, then I disagree with all of them, but they are all still entitled to their opinion.

Seems weird leaving a guy like Jerome Bettis out because he doesn't have a piece of paper. Whatevs though.

I can definitely see your opinion. No different playing 3 years and leaving, or redshirting, playing 3 years and leaving other than you graduated.

This IE HOF stuff would be more fun if we nominated more borderline players instead of Page, Teo, Eifert, etc..

For me this is a no brainer. Can't see how anyone would vote NO.

Didn't Bettis eventually come back and graduate though? To do that after the fact is impressive in its own right.

I abstained.......... instead of voting no. My personal criteria for this award is that they have to have some significant accomplishments off the field, as well as on the field. If they were HUGELY successful at just one side of the coin, then I might overlook mediocre performance on the other. It's not that I think Tyler has failed, off of the field; I just don't think he has had enough time to accomplish significant things yet.

Who have you voted yes for, may I ask?

I would argue that Tyler not only meets your criteria by being one of the best TE's ever to lace them up for the Irish (wouldn't that be "hugely successful alone?) and Pro Bowler in the NFL. Furthermore, he does charity speaking events, was part of the Penny Pincher campaign in Fort Wayne and gives to a bunch of charities. I also believe that he returned to school and got his degree.

Plays for the Bengals.

I need to know how he feels about Vontaze. That clown cost the Steelers a legit shot at ring #7.
