Hurricane Sandy

Winds are howling and rain is pelting everything here in southern Maine. Good luck to those in the "real path" of the storm. Although it sounds bad here and we will certainly lose power, I'm sure this is only a fraction of what millions of others are going through. #hunkerdown

I live in Hershey and the eye will be going almost directly over us or a little south and surprisingly I haven't lost power and my dish hasn't gone out lol

Not to take anything away from the seriousness of the situation the coast is going through with this storm, but if the its not too horrendous in Cleveland tomorrow, you should really go to the lakefront to see the lake. They are expecting 14-22 foot waves on Lake Erie. It will be an event that you you may never see again in your lifetime (hopefully).

Yeah.... It's starting to get bad already... It was on the news. The waves were already reported, 10-12 feet on the news.

There's an awesome pic circulating the web right on the lakefront which runs against I-90 westbound... I'll have to find it. The waves are flying over the freeway. Pretty cool

Thoughts and prayers to those of you out on the coast. Stay safe.

Would it help to send our Defense to New York? I mean, they shut down the Hurricanes in Chicago, perhaps they could do the same out East.

Watching CNN it's hard to tell if there is devastating damage or if the reporter is standing in a creek for a photo op.

I guess there is a tweet going around that Tebow was spotted loading two of every animal onto an ark.

On a serious note I hope everyone is safe and healthy.

Unfortunately Tebow is throwing them onto the ark, and he keeps missing...

Bristol, CT seems like it might have been in the line of Sandy? Any news about the integrity of ESPN's campus?

NYU Hospital has lost power and their back up generator failed. Keep the medical professionals and patients in your prayers.

not just that, the main part of it is on fire, and they are surrounded by 3-4 feet of water. No one could get to them

That is just terrible. I work in a hospital and can't even imagine what they must be going through. I can not wait to hear the stories from the workers and patients.

I know how busy we have been today that would be terrible. Its a terrible feeling when you can't help someone. And our night isn't over yet. Been at work for 30 hours now with a bout 4 hours of sleep. And not sure if we get to leave in t he morning yet.

FDNY is the best fire dept in the USA hands down. They deal with alot of crap everyday.

Water has reached the second floor of my brother's shore house in Belmar. For those familiar with Belmar at all, the house is on A street, which is about 150 yards from the water. The whole town is a disaster area apparently.

Raw: Sandy Leaves NYC Subways Flooded - YouTube

Hurricane Sandy has done a lot of damage in the tristate area (as well as other places Im sure). Lucky my family and I are safe and we are generally unaffected. That video right there brought a tear in my eye, I can't lie. Seeing areas that I know very well and have grown up in affected this much hurts me as much as knowing that I generally can't directly help. Hope all of you guys are safe though and at least we all have our health. Some others haven't been as fortunate...
